Ćevabdžinica "Zmaj “ stanica — Restaurant in City of Sarajevo

I spent 10days in Bosnia and Herzegovina and this place served the best food during my whole trip and I ate at lots of places! First thing, first...this is a BBQ restaurant you come here for the meat dishes kavapi (kebabs), burgers, sausages, chicken, etc served with delicious breads. I counted about 7 guys across two grilling stations preparing the food, gives you an indication how popular this place is, filled mainly with locals and tourists, like me that did their research. Portion are very good with options for super sizing and the food is cooked to perfection, perfectly accompanied with delicious bread that soaks in the meat juices. You don't need any sauces, and this coming from a sauce-guy that loves hot and spicy food. Service is good for this kind of place, it's fast and efficient and the atmosphere is is acceptable for what this place is- high quality food, cooked at volume at very good prices. All the staff are polite and competent maybe a bit rushed but that's expected. They also do takeaway, which I also tried and is also excellent. You can use the glovo app and pay by card or cash. I did cash, being a tourist. I ended my meal with desserts, which they have prepared in a refrigerator. I recommend the apple soaked in syrup with walnuts and topped with cream, forget the name but it's good. Not to heavy. Everytime I think of this place my mouth waters. Next visit to BiH first stop from Sarajevo air is this place. Note: Apologies for my goofy pictures. Difficult place to review, great positives, but the key (food) was hit or miss

We ordered portions that are half chicken half cevapi, thought that's a great and unique deal...cevapi were better than average but not better than the ones around Bascarsija

That said, the chicken was quite questionable, it's difficult to say which part it was but didn't seem like filets, none of us ate all of it (some less hungry didn't eat it at all after a few bites)

The fries portion was super small, like less than 100 grams, you could count the number of sticks on two hands

The positives were you get some free cabbage and lots of very nice soaked bread (somun), and the prices were fair, even slightly lower than average

The staff, the turnaround speed, and atmosphere were great though, would recommend stopping by after visiting the Avaz...

We enjoyed our time here overall. The food was decent, and the portions were very large. However, we were extremely disappointed with the waiter. We wanted to order a meat platter for one person with fries, but he insisted it wouldn’t be enough and recommended the meat platter for two. We followed his advice and really regretted it – the portion was huge, and we couldn’t even finish half of it. If you come as a couple, the meat platter for one is more than enough. Aside from this, everything else was good. There’s also a big aquarium with fish, which creates a pleasant atmosphere.

Another downside is that it’s not mentioned anywhere that payment is cash only.‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ We didn’t have any cash with us and ended up paying in euros, which was a bit of an...
