Fri. 5/26/2023 Memorial Day wkend. Will make sure our friends / family know about Boss Hogg's BBQ..Very pup friendly, large nicely setup very well covered outdoor seating for most any weather. Country music playing. Plus quaint indoor seating. Can't say enough good things about this family owned eattery. Even homemade desserts. 🤩HUGE SHOUT OUT> PLEASE GIVE THIS GUY A RAISE/PROMOTION ❤ Between 12:30-2pm the young man that took care of us was super helpful & accommodating. Have helpful area suggestions & checked on our needs very often. Great ambassador for Wears Valley Area. We were more than aggravated & tired of researching & driving Pigeon Forge/Gat Area for ANY PUP EATTERY!! All this time had no idea it was this close/ hidden gem will always stop there each yr when in the area. In Pigeon Forge Sevierville area > the lack of hired help & discontinuation/ unmanned outdoor eating areas for families with even old friendly dogs has turned us off to that other heavy tourist area. Was last there in 2020, it's just not the same. Will now stay in Wear's Valley / Townsend 🌈👍. Just because it's on Wears Valley Rd don't pass it up / only 10 min away if ur in the Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg areas 🏞 Much less traffic & nastiness.

Where to start... the outside looks like a great, classic bbq dive. The menu is unfortunately extremely overpriced with the lunch and dinner menu being over a $7 difference. This place screams tourist trap to me. I ordered the two meats and sides platter with brisket, pulled pork, beans and fries. It may have been the worst BBQ meals I have actually ever had, and one of the most expensive plates at that. The brisket was as dried out as your grandmother who doesn't know how to properly cook a thanksgiving turkey, pulled pork tasted as dry as a loaf of 99 cent white bread. With that being said, the sides were not that bad, fries were nice and crunchy, and beans were alright. I'm just blown away by how horrible the meat and overall meal was given the rave reviews. I typically am not one to leave bad reviews but with a style of food like BBQ being such an important staple of the south this place is a disgrace and should have BBQ removed from the name of the establishment. BBQ lovers beware. You're much better off going to corky's.

When dinner plans at home go awry, you go get BBQ. We were staying in the area, and saw this spot as we drove by so we stopped in when we were in a pinch. Definitely not disappointed. We got a pound of pulled pork and a pound of the smoked sausage. Both were very good! They come unadulterated (no sauce on them), just a light dusting of dry seasoning. Then you can add your own amount of sauce. I thought that was a nice way of doing it. Their sauce (of the same name) is actually pretty good. It's a mustard base, more vinegary than a smokey/sweet BBQ. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Outside you can find a few spots facing the trees and hills across the road. Really a nice spot away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Pigeon Forge.

The only 2 complaints I have about this place are pretty huge. 1, ill never enjoy BBQ ribs in Pennsylvania ever again, and 2, I got rib meat on my fingers and almost bit them off. There aren't enough stars to give for a proper rating. The staff was amazing, and not just to me, I watched how everyone was treated and you'd have thought everyone coming in was family. First bite of my ribs blew my mind, last bite blew my mind. My girlfriend had the pulled pork sandwich and she barely got into a bite before her eyes rolled to the back of her head. Luckily this time it was from the food and not from my terrible jokes. I will likely go again before I leave on this vacation trip, and I will be back every future vacation to this area.

So I was nursing a broken heart in Sevierville and what better way to do that but with BBQ and chocolate cake. I stumbled across Boss Hogs since it was located super close to my cabin and boy was I not disappointed! I got their rib plate and it kept me well fed for two days. The chocolate cake I thought was a little pricey for what I got, however, it was delightful and would easily get it again. Coming from California, I'm not a huge fan of dry rubbed ribs but these were on point and fell off the bone. They also didn't have an overly smoky taste which I appreciated. It capped off nicely with the bbq sauce that they provided..all in all a good $25 investment for the evening and broken heart mended ❤️

I was torn on this as I enjoyed the pulled pork and their specialized bbq sauce but the amount they charge you for the tiny portions was a little infuriating. $40 for 2 sandwiches a small fry and small mac n cheese and a tiny ice cream. I dont enjoy eating and still being hungry. I think its prices this way as it is in a little tourist trap. It was very small with 7 or 8 tables on the inside and a few outside. They did have heaters for those who chose to eat outside. Small private bathrooms that sgould have been a little cleaner and not very accomidating for anyone in a wheelchair. Its not a bad place to eat. I didnt mind it at all but my husband didnt like it at all. Taste price or venue.
