We were very disappointed with our recent dinner at Banana da Terra. Both my husband and I ordered the fish with herb crust and risotto. Unfortunately, his fish was clearly undercooked. To the waiter’s credit, he immediately apologized and took the dish back to be redone.

However, my husband didn’t receive a replacement until after the rest of us had already finished eating. When the new plate finally arrived, it was overcooked and seemed like they had simply reheated the same piece of fish.

We asked to speak with the manager, expecting at least an apology or acknowledgment of the issue. Instead, we were met with a dismissive and rude attitude. The manager told us that “if you send a plate back, it’s going to take a while to redo it,” as if that justified the poor handling of the situation. Not once did they apologize for serving undercooked fish in the first place.

Overall, it was a very disappointing experience — not only because of the poorly prepared dish, but even more so because of the complete lack of professionalism and courtesy in how the issue...

Good service and a pleasant atmosphere with Bosa Nova music in the background. The location is in a beautiful old building in the heart of Paraty. The menu is in Portuguese and English. Online menu is also available on their website. The location inside is carefully decorated and well maintained, including an inner patio with tropical flowers and lush vegetation reminding Mata Atlantica. Lucky for us, we found a table even without a reservation. For dinner, we chose tuna and file mignon as the main dishes, and some Argentian rose for blending. The beef requested was overcooked and way too salty, even though I had requested medium well, but this was not the matter since the quality of the meat did not resonate with the price requested at all. Therefore, I had to ask for a replacement. Lamb chops chosen as a replacement were delicious, on the other hand, and I would highly recommend them. A variety of imported and local wines are also available. Deserts are very creative amd delicious.

Second return, better say, this time a mere attempt. Arrived at the restaurant and a guy was the receptionist at the time. I asked if they had a table for ONE. He said “sure, please follow me”. I walked in following him, then he turned to me and said “Sorry, a couple was just taken to the table. One minute and will arrange you another one”. So far, okay, I understood. Walked outside the restaurant, waiting. Saw him talking to a lady. She then came to where I was standing and said “May I help you somehow miss?” I was shocked “Cos I thought she would take me to the table the guy said I’d get”, so I starred at her, speechless…she then looked at me like I was crazy and said “Miss. Do you need anything?” I then said “I needed the table your colleague told me he was going to get ready…you having talking to him and not knowing made me absolutely disappointed as your approach…” That said, I simply walked away… On the first time though, the food was pretty nice so that I did want to return which I regret after the...
