Signora Fachini's Lancheria is THE place to eat in Petrópolis. Forget Barranco and their trendy garden. Just stroll down the street and Ana Maria has the most delicious and wonderful welcome waiting for you. This is less polished than Giovanaz so it feels even rougher but the food is prepared with such care and dedication it leaves nothing wanting. Ask Ana Maria about her son in Kentucky on a soccer scholarship and you'll be regaled with photos of the snow there and his team celebrating a goal. Oh and if you don't speak Portuguesh no problem: Ana Maria grew up listening to her parents speak Italian so just speak Italian. She'll be delighted. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon.
