If you come to Rio, you HAVE to come to this place. Their feijoada is the best I ever had - and my golden standard is Feijoada do Bolinha in SP. Their no-frills feijoada is fricking DELICIOUS. Amazing. Superb! You will leave with a big smile in your face. And try the caipirinhas (they have so many flavors and options to try). You won’t regret it. And to top it off, I got a bottle of cachaça that is so hard to find and I’m taking it home to the US to show that Brazil can also have great quality spirit that you must try! Absolutely one of the best, no-frills food I ever had in my life. Go after a day at the beach, swimming trunks and flip flops and just enjoy the rest of your afternoon. It will be awesome...

My only regret? Not discovering this place sooner!

I stumbled upon Academia da Cachaça on my last night in Rio while hunting for a good feijoada, and it did not disappoint. The feijoada was absolutely delicious, everything I hoped for. But what really stood out was the incredible service. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed.

To top it off, they introduced me to a variety of cachaças for tasting. The caipirinhas were also a 10/10.

What a great way to say goodbye to Rio! If (or when!) I return, Academia da Cachaça will be my first stop.
