This place was recommended to us by friends who live in Rio. Ended up being the best recommendation we’ve ever had and one our favourite restaurants full stop. Me and my boyfriend stayed in the city for 5 days and we visited Ceviche RJ twice in that time, it was that good! The food is amazing! The ceviche is the best we’ve ever had and the price is incredibly low for food of such high quality. Also, the Lomo Saltado is amazing. Cooked beautifully rare. The drinks were of equal quality and the sensoriál cocktail is an absolute must have when you visit. The atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed with a great vibe to it. Lastly, but definitely not least, the service. Everyone was brilliant! Especially Frederick who was exceptional on both our visits. Incredibly friendly, attentive and quick! He seemed to have an extra sense to pop up exactly when you needed something and could almost read your mind from across the restaurant. The best service we can remember receiving anywhere in a long long time. We will be visiting again on our way back through Rio for sure. If you are in Rio and you don’t visit here you are missing out!
We will see you again soon Ceviche...

I had the Classic Ceviche Combo with pescado (fish). If you want you can ask if they have the orange sweet potato which is so much better than the regular one.
Then I ordered a new plate they only have on the weekends, the Ceviche Nikkei. It's a Ceviche with Tuna instead of the regular fish from the Classic Ceviche and avocado instead of sweet potato.
I still thought it was really good but my personal taste says the Classic Ceviche was better.
So it's totally worth going and I will be...

Room for improvement: When we arrived, there was a mix of strong smells—trash (bins are right next to the tables), fish, cleaning chemicals, and smog (since the restaurant is right on a busy street). I’m sure the experience could improve significantly if at least some of these odors were minimized—even if the smog is out of...
