I recommend you to reserve your spot ahead of time, otherwise this is what will happen: register your party’s quantity and give them your email so you can track your place in line (if you don’t have a Brazilian phone number), wait at least 1hr during lunch hour (it was 2:22pm when we registered our party of 2), you’ll walk around the Morro da Urca while checking on the website for your place in line, you’ll stay close by once you see you’re close to being called, they’ll call you and sit you wherever there’s an empty table, you’ll press on a button on the table to call someone to take your order (hopefully you already read the menu while waiting), they’ll take about 15-20min to bring your drink, and about 30-50min to bring your food (ours took 50min to come out). This was already 4:29pm. We disliked 1 of the alcoholic drinks and substituted with a watermelon juice. The “awarded” Pão de Açucar Caipirinha wasn’t that great and it’ll empty quickly since they add a bunch of lemon slices in the cup. You’ll be better off getting a “real one” on the beach. We finished eating at 5pm, asked for our check, and went on our way to the actual sugarloaf mountain to watch the sunset. Spent about USD $60.

We were starving and although we didn’t stress because we understood there would be a wait time, it was just too long. If you’re starving by then, I would recommend to go to the “Classico Sunset Club” (a drink and snack club) on the sugarloaf mountain that has a 20min top wait line, grab a couple of drinks and finger foods while looking at a killer view, and have lunch or dinner at a restaurant once you get back...

During our visit to Carioca Bar and Restaurant at Sugarloaf Mountain in Rio, my cousin and I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Shirley, and what a blessing she was! From the moment we arrived, she made us feel so welcome with her warm personality, genuine kindness, and outstanding service. Her attentiveness and enthusiasm truly elevated our experience, making it one of the most memorable highlights of our trip. Shirley went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, engaged, and enjoying every moment. Her energy and hospitality reflect the best of Brazilian warmth, and we are incredibly grateful for the joy she brought to our visit. If you’re ever at Sugarloaf, seek out Shirley—she’s an absolute gem!

We DEFINITELY RECOMMEND. Instagram:...

I had an amazing dining experience at this wonderful restaurant under Pão de Açúcar. The atmosphere was breathtaking, and the setting added a special touch to my meal. What truly made the experience exceptional was our waiter, Vinicius. He was incredibly attentive and helpful, taking care of every need, regularly checking in to ensure everything was perfect, and genuinely caring about my satisfaction. His professionalism and warmth made the meal even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place for both its fantastic ambiance and outstanding service by Vinicius!
