Um Coffee Co. — Restaurant in Região Imediata de São Paulo

I would like to share our experience with your coffee shop. We came to San Paulo for U.S. and stayed next door at Thera. Your coffee shop was highly recommended for its award wining coffee. However, they forgot to mention the service, which was non existent! It seems like the employees were there as hostages in an environment they totally didn’t want to be in! As a business owner in America, this business would fail miserably no matter how good the product was. May I suggest something that may work? Can you put at least a fake smile on their faces and maybe they can act like they want to be there! I know you have a captive market and maybe there’s no need to solicit business but as for someone looking to enjoy your coffee and the experience, try to find someone who can act well and pretend the customer is the reason the business was happy to have you!...

I love UM coffee and I really feel sad posting this review. Knowing how Stephan works at Bom Retiro, our experience in this branch was a disaster. We arrived at 2pm (they close at 4pm) and there was a woman mopping the floor with a dirty and smelly mop, killing the fragrance of the marvelous coffee. But that was not all, the service was a terrible, nobody gave us the menus (digital ones are outdated) and once we picked our coffee the attendant told us “are you sure you want that? It’s too much coffee for you? Maybe you can try one, finish and order more.” Actually we wanted to taste and compare different varieties of coffee using different methods.

This place exceeded my expectations. I knew it was going to be good from the pictures but when I arrived , the place has two floors worth areas designed for working, strong wifi, a range of pastries that were delicious and homemade. O offered the apple pie but they also have banoffee and many others.

I also ordered the eggs Benedict without ham as they serve entree items as well! They also have decaf coffee and lactose free oat milk which is very rare to find. I ordered a decaf iced latte and a chai latte. The chai is pure without added sugar just spice and black tea.

The eggs Benedict wasn't super seasoned but it was good and healthy.
