Definitely the worst experience I've ever had。On 17June 18:52, my boyfriend and me went to the Buffet 88, that’s the first time we visited. When we arrived at the entrance, there was a staff, he is tall, tan skin, with black framed glasses, and he started yelling, “No hat!No hat!” . Because my boyfriend has hair skin problems, he needs to wear a hat. And we didn't know that hats are not allowed there. I was a little disappointed with his attitude, I felt like he didn't need to yell, just say please take off the hat, that’s enough. He asked us to show ID with photo. We took out passports, he shouted“passport!” His face looked impatient! I don’t know why his reaction was so rude. He asked us to type our passport information into the computer. Because my boyfriend doesn’t know English, can’t understand him. I translate English to Chinese for my boyfriend, he shouted: “English!English!English!” I felt so uncomfortable with him but didn’t say anything. My boyfriend couldn’t understand his English, I tried to translate again, he was shouting : “English!English!English!” Again to us, I said, because he can’t understand English, that’s why I talk to him in Chinese. He said: “Learning ! Learning !” My feelings was like we are adults, not his kids, he is not qualified to yell us! My boyfriend is learning English, just need time to get progress! I said “ You are so rude, that’s discrimination!” He said: Maybe, if you don’t like you can go!!!” I was so shocked about his attitude and what he said! I wonder to know does he know what is customer service?what does customer’s experience mean to him? What’s his role in this job? What’s his responsibility for the job? Did the facility provide him a job training? That’s unbelievable and ridiculous! Australia is an immigrant country. There are many people from different countries live in Australian, combined by different cultures, and different languages. We cannot discriminate against any race and culture. As a staff who works at reception, he has to accept and welcome customers from all countries. A reception staff is the face of the facility. How can he yell the customer, if you don’t like, you can go!!! I wonder to know is he the manager or the CEO ? How come the facility allows staff perform like this? Employees are paid because of the presence of customers. If he discriminates against Asians and tells every Asian that they can leave if they don’t like it, how can he get paid? Unfortunately, a super...
Read moreI have read the reviews before going there today. Here is my opinion on it.
Mediocre food. It's mostly for Asian people hardly any proper food like lamb shanks. The beef and pork were just soaked in water or something and tasted real bad.
I ate: Beef - 3/10 I felt sick after, when I went to grab portions the meet tray was just filled with water? or oil.. or some sort of liquid. The gravy helped get the taste out but I felt sick after 2 bites.
Chow mien - 4/10 The Dim sums - literally store bought food you can find in a Tong Li Supermarket... and very small portions!
Chips - 5/10 could be better they were not crunchy (No seasoning such as Chicken Salt)
Seafood pipi - 7/10 Its like Pipi's you get at Chinese Restaurants
Potato's - -2/10 no seasoning it's plain boiled potatoes.. very disappointing.
Honey chicken - 4/10 not fresh tasted a little off
Fish cocktail - 2/10 not seasoned
Ice cream - 7/10 tasted most like a sorbet
Tiramisu cake - 8/10 wish there were bigger pieces
To conclude my family member was feeling sick when we left.
I guess its only good for Birthday Parties and as a catering service than an actual buffet :)
Overall my taste is picky, but a buffet is meant to have more than just Chinese food.
This buffet is aimed at Asian food it's not really open to other cultures...
Before you go calling me racist I am half Asian too.
You're better off spending the money at the Crown Buffet :)
P.S People leaving 5 stars... I don't think you have the right taste for...
Read moreSTAFF ABUSED PREGNANT WOMEN!
The incident occurred on 9th December 2023 when we visited the restaurant for lunch. I used the tray to pick some dried crackers but accidentally dropped 3 pieces on the floor. But I had to leave it as I was not able to bend as I'm at 3rd trimester. Allegedly, one of the staff members - Sandy exhibited rude behavior and verbal abuse towards me, she said ‘ If you dropped it, you have to pick it up’. Then I told her that I'm pregnant and not meant to pick it up from the floor’ then she's responded and said ‘Why can't you pick it up because you're pregnant?’ in Mandarin. I felt that I was seriously offended and told my husband my husband came to the staff and asked her name, she then continued to blame me that I dropped the cracker on the floor and I need to pick it up, pregnancy is not the excuse in her mind. Then my husband and I reported this issue to her manager. The manager applogised and said she will educate the staff. Despite the apologies, this incident and the rude staff has been leaving me deeply upset and dissatisfied with the overall experience.
We have reported the incident to the restaurant management, but feeling that their concerns were not adequately addressed. So we're now thinking to bring attention to the matter through local...
