The Deck — Restaurant in Khan Chamkar Mon

While the big Deck is undoubtedly an expat bar & restaurant, judging by mostly by the menu, there are many local patrons as well, making an interesting mix. IMO, this place is currently first choice around Toul Tompoung (Russian Market). Great food at reasonable prices and attentive staff who seem to enjoy doing whatever they can to make you welcome.

Fun quiz on Tuesday evenings starting 20:00 but being late seems OK as long as you're not part of an established team, in which case you are automatically assigned to the "Bar Flies".

Oh, and the company is OK too, as long as you like Kiwis, Aussies, South Africans, Canadians and other ex and current members of the British Empire, along with quite a few from the US of A.

Racist staffs – Never go if your skin is brown or black!

My partner and I used to visit this restaurant every weekend, mainly because of the live music. We usually spent around $50 each time. Sadly, last week was the final straw — I’ve decided never to return. The staff have always seemed rude and impatient with us, and I strongly believe it’s because my boyfriend is brown. If you’re brown or Black, I suggest you stay away. The high ratings are likely because they treat white customers very differently — with much more friendliness and respect. I used to go there regularly, but about a year or 2 ago they increased prices, reduced portion sizes and the food quality went down as well. I have been back from time to time to see if things got better, but I didn't see any positive changes. Also, on the menu the fish and chips are claimed to be "now bigger", when in reality I noted that the portion was smaller. I suggest the owner try eating at some of the competing pubs that offer a better deal at a lower price. It's a pity since the location is convenient for me.
