NOW: I wanted to update my rating to a 5. This place is excellent for delicious food and service. Back in 2018, they were getting started and had a lot of growing pains. However, as noted in the review from back then, the food was excellent. I am happy to say that in my last 10 visits all the issues that I saw back in 2018 are solved and they are doing so much better. First, the food is excellent. Yesterday I had a Mayan wrap (new item) delicious. Absolutely loved it. Great flavour combo in this wrap and the extra hot sauce was enjoyed immensely. Other options I have really enjoyed over the years are the lamb and chicken wraps. Also really enjoy the falafel wraps too. Excellent. Ingredients always fresh. I enjoy on the basic wraps adding the grilled onions and mushrooms and then doubling up the hot sauce. Its delicious. I have now ordered and eaten here about 40 to 50 times since my 2018 review and can confidently say that after some growing pains this place is well run, clean, and excellent nice staff too. Keep up the great work. I am a regular! I will leave my old post attached just for reference. But again I do want to emphasize that for at least 3 years now since COVID time this place has been excellent. OLD REVIEW FROM 2018: This is a tough review to do. I love the food here. I love the Lamb donair. Packed with veggies which have always been crisp and fresh. I have purchased around 20 lamb donairs here over the last 9 months. Veggies always great. I do find the store bought bags of wraps kind of humorous, but it doesnt really phase me. Just kind of funny that they would openly show that the wraps are from a grocery store nearby. The lamb has always been excellent. Never bad and always enjoyed it. Admittedly I have not ever had the chicken or other meats. Or any other dishes. I really like the sauces, especially the hot sauce. The downside is the service. They are typically not very friendly. There is one female who is on her phone a lot similar to other comments below. It can be frustrating. Also, sometimes I wonder how clean they are. If the server is getting up from sitting down and talking on the phone my hope would be they wash their hands which only sometimes happens. The place itself is not palatial. Overall, though, I will keep going back as I do like the donairs, its a convenient location right off the exit on my way home and when my family is out of town and I dont wanna make supper, it is a super healthy and easy supper. I have yet to have bad food...
Read moreI have been here a few times and can say there are definitely areas for improvement with customer service. My husband loves donair and this is close to our house which is why I have returned after unpleasant experiences in the past. Today however was by far my worst experience. My food was thrown together so fast by rude employees, yet I had to wait for not only one but two customers behind me to be served AND pay before I could pay, even though my food was ready to go and in a bag at the counter...? I stood there like a dummie when the other customers behind me were rung up before me because they clearly were known to the employees or were regulars. So instead of causing a scene over nonsense I brushed it off, paid, went to my car and realized that the bag they handed me had a container tipped on its side, and more than half of the contents inside leaked into the bag and down my leg. As annoying as this is, I also brushed it off and told myself it was my own fault for not carrying the bag they handed me differently. What really makes me angry is that on top of the poor customer service, my husband and I are both horrendously sick after eating the food. Maybe because it’s not heated properly, maybe because the workers have poor food safe or sanitation knowledge, or maybe just because they are lazy and chose not to clean their work area. Either way, I spent $25 on two items (one of which was only half salvageable after the spill) and we are both sicker than sick with what I assume is food poisoning almost right after eating. I will never eat anything from here ever again, and I would recommend to bring a meat thermometer if your going to...
Read moreI’ve yet to experience the case of food poisonings a lot of people here are complaining about because I just gulfed my donair down as I am writing this review. But I am scared because I smelled something sour in my donair but I shrugged it off thinking it could be one of the sauces that produced the smell.
A lot of reviews here are very accurate in terms of how poor customer service and quality of food are. The ladies behind the donair bar were constantly talking to each other in their language I don’t understand. I acknowledge Canada is a multicultural country that is founded on the idea of respecting each other’s heritage and culture. However, standing across the bar while ladies talking in their language, laughing, not paying attention to me, and carelessly slapping my donair together while doing it was an unpleasant experience.
In all, I don’t think I am going to go back. I suggest the owner to take serious measures into improving both quality of the service and food immediately instead of slapping on some fake 5-star reviews uttering “yummy yummy” bulls#&@ to remedy the s&$@ty a$$ rating to trick more poor customers into paying for bad experiences. Good bye...
