Mary Brown's Chicken — Restaurant in Abbotsford

When this location first opened the sandwiches were way better than the one on the other side of town. I would frequently get the spicy Mary, but now the are only ok. I noticed the recipe for the spicy sauce has changed a couple of times now and I would rank it 7-8/10 for heat, but then went up to a 12/10 and would be so hot my nose would run. The sandwiches also used to come with 3 pickle slices and now there is just one (and outside the bun!) Even the bun seems different too. For a franchise one would think there would be consistency but there is no longer here. I wonder how many other people have noticed these things too?🤔

Just look at these past 3 sandwiches from my most recent visit that I had to ask for extra pickles in order to get 3. But at least they dialed back the spicy...

To preface, I've worked in customer service for a good chunk of my working years, so I may have certain expectations that I believe others also share.

The place was empty when I arrived, yet there were tables that were dirty (e.g. oily tables, food crumbs). Since it was empty, one could expect to see all tables cleaned.

I approached the cash register to order, only to wait about 5-7 minutes before anyone came to the front. To note, I did make a call out, but no one came. One might think I didn't call out loud enough, but I was louder than doordash/skip the dishes notification which was heard by the staff.

When the person taking my order finally came, she asked if I waited long and I said yes. She said okay, instead of apologizing for making me wait.

TL:DR come for the chicken, not...

Hmmm I really wanted to be impressed by the new chicken place. The food was on par with KFC, average to slightly below average food. The wedges were not hot, but not cold , very starchy in the middle. Everything was very bland and average. If I was charged $8 for the meal I would say that would be fair unfortunately I paid over $13 for it in which I feel ripped off. Unfortunately I will not be a repeat customer, and will continue eating at Popeyes until something comes along. I really had high hopes for...
