Noodlebox — Restaurant in Abbotsford

The most pathetic branch with pathetic service. I have ordered twice from this branch of NB and both the times they have messed up the order. Quantity of noodles will be less and vegetables will be more. Barely there will be any chicken.

My recent order was soo bad. I had ordered Singaporian cashew curry noodles, & pad thai (Both with chicken). the Singaporian noodles had barely any chicken & cashews, noodles were broken into pieces and full of vegetables as if I am having a vegetable bowl. The Pad thai was without any chicken( and I was charged for chicken ). Both the meals had a very bad quantity. Anyhow me & husband ate the bowls as we were very hungry & came from US back that night. and guess what, it had a food and safety issue. while I was chewing my bite, I found a sticker label of 101 written on it, in my mouth. That jut flipped me even more. I still have the bowl, sticker & receipt with me.

So I called them the next day to report the concern. The lady on the phone couldn't hear me half of the time, or kept saying sorry, and also said she doesn't know what to do. LOL

There was no manager on duty, she was supposed to be there at the branch in the evening, & I was told the manager will call me asap she is there in the branch, but I never received any call nor follow up.

The person I spoke to at the branch didn't know herself what to do. I had to call her twice to know if she has let her manager know about this? and she didn't. because she was busy she said. I understand that completely. you don't have a responsible branch manager, obviously it would be busy to manage the location. But that doesn't mean this issue is a joke to you or not to be taken seriously that you don't let your manager know. Instead the girl was like we can compensate you for this. I am sorry, I am not calling you with the complain because I want a free meal, I am not one of those people who create dramas for free meals. I am calling you because your branch is pathetic & there has been a food safety concern. first, you don't prepare the meals properly. Second, there is a safety issue. This isn't a joke or about any compensation. Mistakes happen, I understand. but it shouldn't be dealt in this ignorant manner. You can keep your compensation to yourself.

As I read some reviews down, I see people having issue with quantity & no chicken in their meals, clearly it is a branch issue, as I have not faced this from other tried branches of NB so far.

I really like noodle box and I order at work from the south surrey branch quite often. its such a wholesome & comforting meal. I have had it from Langley as well. So the other branches have been really good & consistent. except Abbotsford, where I had issue with them two times. as I write this, till now I have not received any call from the manager. I prefer speaking to the manager as he/she is responsible for its branch & the people. But it looks like they refuse to call me....

Our family was giddy with excitement when we discovered Noodlebox opened in Abbotsford, and even more so, anticipating the opening of the Chilliwack one in October 2018. Our experience was spectacular when we first tried Noodlebox in Vancouver and in Victoria.

As one who was born and raised in Southeast Asia, and now call Canada home since '89, my taste buds have been trained on Mom's delicious Southeast Asian cooking and the infamous hawker centres in Singapore (you've gotta check them out in "Crazy Rich Asians"). With Noodlebox's fusion of Southeast Asian flavors, with oh so yummy coconut curries and fragrant spices brings back wonderful memories of childhood. Thanks Noodlebox!

Noodlebox East Abby accompanies their cuisine with a contemporary vibe in their industrial-like space, hip beats and bar-top tables. There are no other eateries in Abbotsford or Chilliwack that represent Southeast Asian cuisine - the others are either Chinese (Hong Kong Szechuan OR Canadian Chinese) or Japanese cuisine, so I'm thankful for this addition.

The cherry on top is meeting and chatting with good folks like Roman and Mattea(?) at the East Abby location, who remember and call us by our names whenever we visit. On our last visit, Roman encouraged us to give the Kumbucha on tap/draft a try, and boy, that's the best version I've ever had - a good accompaniment to the yummy spicy dishes on their menu.
