Phoenix Diner — Restaurant in Abbotsford

Went in here for the first time today, after occasionally passing by and eyeing it up as long as I can remember. It was just after 1pm, peak of lunch rush, and the place was nearly full (though, we did not have to wait to be seated.) Despite how full it was, the place was very quiet. No music and dim lights— sensory heaven! A moderate wait for food to arrive, which was very understandable given the time of day. We shared chicken and spring rolls on vermicelli, and the fried wontons. The noodles were perfectly cooked, the spring rolls were crisp, and the carrot and cabbage was lightly pickled! Sweet and a little bit tangy, not at all vinegary, and it was a nice change from every other Vietnamese place I’ve been to. The wontons were also very nice and crisp, and delicious with the sweet chilli sauce they were served with. The owner was very friendly, and the place was full of regulars, which is always a great sign.

I wait around 20min nobody was here it was empty i ordered a simple plate just rice with chicken. The rice taste bad they added some sauce at the top which wasn’t good, amount of chicken poor, I had to ended up adding some Ketchup to my rice to eat some more coz it was my lunch time and I didn’t have much time to eat later. I couldn’t finish.

Also in the beginning they didn’t offer me water or tea after 10min I had to asked them.

Haven’t try Pho here but definitely I’ll not come back. Sorry but I spend over $20 bucks for a non great meal.

Was there the other day pulled into the restaurant at 9:20 PM? The website says they close at 10 PM. The sign on the door says close at 10 PM and the sign also says open table for four and they said they’re closing I said, but you close at 10 PM, they said yes but it’s already 9:20 PM so they’re closing soon. I said that’s fine. Will make the order right away and will eat quickly. They refuse and said we are closing now so I told them changed their website and changed the sign on the door saying that you guys close at 9:30 then don’t say you close at 10 o’clock Terrible Pl. terrible staff very rude.
