The Pastry Portal — Restaurant in Abbotsford

We’ve now enjoyed quite a range of offerings from the Pastry Portal through pre-orders and the recently-opened brick and mortar shop. Everything has been STELLAR 🤩

The croissants alone are the best in the Fraser Valley, hands-down. On par with the quality of croissants we’ve had from around the globe. Any of the filled croissants are next-level. The type of comforting classic, yet deliciously elevated treats we’re always looking for.

Among the well-loved baked goods of downtown Abby (Oldhand, Duft&Co) which lean more toward a home-baked style, a lot of the treats at Pastry Portal offer a refreshing level of sophistication, expanding the variety of sweet treats available in the area.

Also to note, the carrot cake that was made available for Easter was the best carrot cake we’ve ever had. The flavours were classic and perfectly balanced. The crumb on the cake had the ideal density and the cream cheese frosting wasn’t overpowering. Overall, 11/10. We hope cakes (or at least this one) are something that could be available for order in future. We would buy this carrot cake by the square foot if we could 😂

this rating isn't for the quality of your food but for how i was just treated in your bakery. I've been waiting since you announced the bakery to finally try your baked goods, I'm local here to downtown Abbotsford and this just left a sour taste in my mouth. I had my dog tied up outside, like I have done many times with businesses in downtown Abby. He was tied up on the gate (didn't know it was going to move) and someone in a blue sweater and toque came to let us know, but in the worst way possible. He yelled at both my boyfriend and I for having him outside waiting, in front of everyone in your bakery to the point that I didn't even get to look at what you had because I felt ostracized. I've never been treated like this in any business and has left my boyfriend and I feeling...

Truly all you need is love and few treats from the pastry portal, and life is good ☺️. I can’t recommend the pastry portal enough It’s my little work treat I enjoy with friends, since it’s just four minutes from work, and on my days off, my husband picks it up as a special start to the day. There’s nothing better than sipping on their amazing coffee while taking a morning walk with our dog.Everything I’ve tried—from their pastries to their cakes—has been fresh and absolutely delicious. The seasonal changes in their menu and décor keep things exciting, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff are some of the sweetest people around.
