The Tipsy Barrel Pub — Restaurant in Abbotsford

This was our first visit to the recently opened Tipsy Barrel Pub (formerly the Townhall Pub). It has new owners and the food and drink menu items are very tasty and plentiful unlike its predecessor establishment. Its interior has been remodeled and it's much more inviting to customers.

We attended during Happy Hour (3 pm to 6 pm) and ordered deep fried Classic Popcorn. It also comes in Cheddar and Dill Pickle flavours. It was very good and endlessly refilled as you like.

We also ordered large red and white wines and since we were walking not driving we also had seconds on same! They were house wines of high quality.

We also ordered the deep fried Dry Ribs which were very juicy. We chose the Salt and Pepper variety. In addition, we had the Chicken Wings in sweet Thai chili sauce. Everything was very yummy.

We then had large Caesar Salads off the main menu to finish a very satisying meal. We had no room for dessert and coffee.

Our server Taylor was very attentive and pleasant!

I was there tonight to enjoy a few drinks and dinner. Ordered a flight of mimosas and when they arrived and the server put them on the table two glasses tipped over and dumped all over the table and onto me. My shorts were wet, my shirt was wet and my blouse. Basically the entire right side on my body. They got us a new table but brought the soaking sticky menus to our new table and a stack of napkins for me. We decide to stay and at least have enjoy happy hour. Other customers who were watching felt bad and tried to help. Accidents happen.....I get it. The server said the bartender used the wrong glasses but when we were there before those were the glasses but I didn't wear my drinks. BUT....There was no offer of a free anything by this restaurant and I paid full price, not even a free appy or next time let me buy you a free bowl if popcorn or anything. Nothing. So be warned, if the server dumps a flight of mimosas on you....management will do nothing to try and make things right. Such a poor response. Now I am off to shower as I have discovered that mimosas become sticky when...

First time here since it opened. I saw online that they had brunch but there was no menu so I had to call to see what they offered. Hubby & I both ordered iced tea & the ried egg grilled cheese sandwich. Iced tea - super sweet. We asked for water to add to iced tea as it wasn't good the way it was served. Sandwich - very basic, no fancy greens or seasonings. Found out that they use processed cheese, which was a shock in today's market. The plastic cheese was very apparent, taste and consistency wise and stuck to our teeth. The bread is very basic as well. This isn't a cheap meal, so was expecting better quality ingredients. Atmosphere- found the music quite loud for 10am. Server was very nice.

Not sure we will be back which is too bad as I was really hoping for a great place in...
