The absolute worst restaurant experience! I ordered spicy agadashi tofu and when I received it it was too spicy to eat, I've had spicy food before and normally enjoy it, but this was over the top especially for a Japanese restaurant, so I politely asked the waitress if I could get another one with less or no spice. Then the owner came out and began to argue with me about how I can't get another one because that's what I ordered, I was shocked and asked if I could just pay and leave... well she got another booth involved, asking them if they have had the dish and was it spicy... the women said spice is different for everyone and was obviously uncomfortable being brought into this. At this point I was ready to just pay and leave, even though I didn't eat it...the women would NOT let me leave and tried to even record me ( I was calming sitting at the table saying I'd like to leave can I pay)... so I got up and tried to walk out the door till she ran in front of me and began yelling at me saying I needed to pay, which I wanted to, but she was continuing to argue with me.. so I saw that as my only choice... so once again I asked if I could pay louder and the waitress just blankly stared and for the last time I asked again and she ran to the till to let me pay... as I was leaving the woman was still trying to argue with me while her husband came and started yelling at me... I began to cry, as I have never been harassed like this before and was in shock, I left while her husband was chasing me out the door. I even contemplated phoning the police. In the restaurant industry you should learn how to deal with basic requests and not become argumentative...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had been coming to Kojan for quite some time, and have recommended this place to family and friends in the past- which I regret! Servers were okay; however, the management at this restaurant needs a lot of improvements on their food and customer service skills.
As a regular, I made an order to-go on a menu that I was familiar with. But I when I brought it home, I soon realized they changed up the entire presentation and quality of the food by replacing majority of the meat to cheap veggies without informing me. The chicken was incredibly mushy as if they had boiled it in water after deep frying it. Furthermore, it had a disgusting, inedible powdery-like texture (incredibly gross). So I contacted the restaurant to speak to the staff in regards to how disappointing the food was. No apologies were expressed, and what I could hear over the phone was the owner, the chef, and the server tossing the phone among each other as they were unwilling to take responsibility in resolving the issue! At one point, the owner and chef put the blame on me for requesting the food to be prepared a little bit spicier, which clearly shows how incompetent they are with their cooking and customer service skills. Eventually, I had to drive back to return their inedible food. Never will I forget the owner's glares and intolerable attitude for bringing back the food that was already "touched/eaten." The owner and chef are unprofessional, unskilled, incompetent people who clearly don't know how to run a local business.
I would give them a negative star if there was such an option. Regardless, I will never waste anymore time and money at...
Ā Ā Ā Read morethis used to be one of the nicer places in abbotsford for sushi/korean food but after my awful experience yesterday i dont think i can ever bring myself to eat here again. i had ordered agedashi tofu and was told there may be a wait for it. i didnt mind waiting at all as that indicated to me that it was going to be freshly made. when i started eating it i realized that only a couple of the pieces were hot enough that i could consider them fresh. the rest were just "warm" (and its not from sitting out. i ate the hotter pieces after the just warm ones). our server mostly ignored me but was overly polite to my partner, taking every opportunity to call him "sir" which was a little bit uncomfortable. the salmon maki was okay despite being a bit dry. the chopped scallop roll was really fishy and had tobiko that looked like it had been soaked in food coloring on it -- when i took a bite of one of the chopped scallop rolls, something in it crunched so hard my teeth hurt for hours afterwards. when i mentioned it to our server, she tried to lie to me and tell me that the fish eggs must have been crunchy. even if it was the fish eggs, there certainly wasn't one huge rock solid fish egg. i was worried that i had broken a tooth, the sound of the crunch was so bad and it hurt a lot. it made me feel sick right away just...
