Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Airdrie

The customer service at this establishment was outrageous and uncalled for! A few of my friends and me decided that on our lunch break, we'd treat ourselves to a little DQ delicacy. As we entered we were IMMEDIATELY pestered by one of the older employees. We we verbally kicked out cause one of my companions wasn't so very hungry and so be it, did not order. (* my friend never took out any outside food and was sitting blissfully minding his business). After, we decided, it was no big deal and we would therefore return back to our previous location. The disrespect, lack of patience and disregard left me and my fellow companions DUMBFOUNDED! I get that there is a heavily populated schools nearby, but there's no reason to act in such a manner just cause me and my fellow friends were younger. At no such time did we act disrespectful to the employees nor establishment. If I could i'd give this place ZERO STARS for customer service!

food was gas though.

Stopped at this DQ for lunch on the way to Calgary just after they opened. First thing I noticed was no paper towel in the men’s washroom. I found that odd that no one would check on that before they closed the night before or before they opened in the morning. Meal seemed ok except for their soda machine. I tried the root beer first and it was flavorless. Pretty much soda water. Tried the 7-up next and noticed a fair amount of black particles in my cup. I brought it to the attention of our server and she said she would bring me another one from the takeout dispenser. Obviously it was tied into the same system as there were black particles in my cup again. Didn’t seem like they were concerned about it as they didn’t put a note on the machine/ take the 7-up out of service. Is there a manager here for the staff to go to or at the very least a checklist for the staff to go through to make sure they’re ready for day to day operations? Do people care here or just not motivated?...

Meal was fairly nasty. But I could have had fresh raw onions to hide bitter flavours for someone who enjoys onions. My wife does not. She also informs me that you have to pay extra for onions, lettuce, etc. I ordered a mushroom burger in the first order. It was tasty but very messy to eat and way too small. Because I was still a bit hungry from small first order, I had to order a second order, which was still small but more beef. Brought bill high enough for me to realize I would have been better off to go to the large restaurant down the street and pay less for the two of us and be more satisfied with better quantity, flavour, for same cost Fries were horrible cooked in old oil, making them taste bitter, the onion rings are fried in old oil, and way over fried. Milkshake was tasty, but exactly what it is called "milk" cool but runny. When you are finished with your meal, you have to walk through the restaurant to place your trash and then walk through the restaurant...
