Food was great but service was terrible so I can’t give 5 stars. This was my first time ordering from Madura and I had to wait nearly an hour for my food. I tried calling prior to getting there to order ahead of time but the line went straight to voicemail. They’re mainly young kids working at the front and most of them are very polite and kind but there was this one younger lady who was treating customers poorly. While I sat waiting for my food I noticed that she was bossing the others around and pointing to customers for the other staff to attend to them. This staff member was the one answering all the calls and getting payment from customers. What really upset me was when I asked the staff where my food was because I noticed that customers who came to dine in after me already got their food, this staff member lied to me. She first told me that the dine in customer may have ordered over the phone prior to coming in to sit and I told her that I was sitting and I saw the customer order after they sat down. Then the customer told me that the dine in customers get their food faster to which I asked why and she said because they’re sitting and waiting. To this, I told her I was also sitting and waiting and she asked if I ordered when I got there or over the phone so I informed her that I ordered when I got there because the phone line didn’t go through. One of the other staff members came and told me my food would be another 5 minutes so I was told it would be soon. I did get my food soon after however I was very upset with the way this staff treated me, the other staff working there, as well as the other customers. She was rude and was interrupting customers to take the next customer. I would hope that management views this review and takes some action to better their customer service because it does seem the other staff there are friendly but the person who is always at the front is not. I was there on October 22nd from 7:45pm to 8:45pm.
Food however tasted home cooked and was thoroughly enjoyed. We ordered the sambar vada and Mysore...

I recently dined at Madurai Dine In with a group of five, and unfortunately, the experience was far from pleasant. While the food itself was okay, the service left a lot to be desired and needs major improvements.
To start, our table was only given 3 menus for 5 people, which made ordering a bit of a hassle.
Appetizers were served without the required plates. Cups were provided to the table that weren't thoroughly cleaned. When our food was served, it came at completely different times. Some of us had finished eating before others had even received their meals, which took away from the enjoyment of dining together.
On top of that, the staff made several mistakes with our orders and showed no real concern or apology for the errors. We mentioned to the staff at least 5 times that orders were missing and were greeted with an apprehensive and dismissive attitude. After a frustrating wait, we decided to cancel some of the items they had gotten wrong.
The dining area, waiting area, and washroom facilities were all noticeably unclean. It’s clear that the restaurant is in serious need of both training for the staff and better cleaning practices.
Didn't take pictures of the areas mentioned above however a simple visit will easily validate this review.
Overall, the experience was quite poor, and I wouldn't recommend visiting until they address these issues. A simple suggestion: the restaurant should be kept much cleaner, and the staff should be more attentive to both customer service and hygiene. The rep attempted to state the restaurent was busy and which it eventually did become busy however several of the issues occured prior to dinner rush coming in.

Read moreTried Madura for dine-in with my family for South Indian food and wasn’t impressed with the quality & taste of the dishes.
We ordered Paper Mysore Masala Dosa, Masala Dosa, Onion Tomato Chilli Uttapam (without the chillies), Tomato Uttapam & Vegetable Biryani for main course.
The ambience of the restaurant is okay. We were offered a table which was comprised of three small tables. The centre small table was shaking so we moved to another table which was fine.
The Paper Mysore Masala Dosa & the Masala Dosa arrived first. Both of them were not crispy as they should have been. The Paper Mysore Masala Dosa is supposed to be longer in size. In addition, the potato masala was hardly there and over mashed. The Sambar was just dal and lacking the actual spices that create an authentic sambar. It did not even have the vegetables as part of the dish. The green coconut chutney was diluted and missing the coconut flavour. The coconut chutney should be thicker in its texture. The tomato chutney was okay being slightly spicy.
The Onion Tomato Uttapam was good and crisp. However, the tomato uttapam had very less tomatoes on it which should not have been the case.
The last item was the Vegetable Biryani which was a complete disappointment. It wasn’t a biryani at all but “Pulao” that is made at homes. The texture was like “Khichdi” and had hardly any vegetables in it. The portion was much less for the price of the dish. The presentation was also very poor.
I called the server and complained about the Vegetable Biryani but they said this is how it is made at their restaurant. The server was kind to apologize for the dissatisfaction.
To change our tastes, we ordered Rava Kesari for dessert. It took much longer than expected as it was being freshly prepared. It was worth the wait as it was delicious. Perfect sugar amount and very hot as well. It was served in a steel bowl but could have been...
