Pizza Nova — Restaurant in Ajax

When your delivery comes to the door and you have to use their debit terminal and you are paying debit, BEWARE of their cheesy, (pardon the pun) $1 surcharge tax which I'm assuming to help them absorb their wireless terminal costs and making it seem that your being punished for using your debit card because oddly enough if you use your credit card you are not charged this fee which makes no sense to me. As a business owner myself I pay $0.06 per debit transaction and pay 1.89% on credit cards and likely they get a better rate than me so if anything it would make more sense for them to charge a fee for using your credit card and not debit card. You are not however charged this fee in store so it has to be because of the cellular data fee they want to make you pay. Besides me being angry about paying this tacky fee from such a huge corporation, you are not told about this fee when ordering and it does not get added to your cart when checking out so you may say its only a dollar but its the principle and not about the value. They likely are making $100+ a day just on this surcharge, ($100 x 30 days = $3000 a month at least), likely they are renting the terminal for $20 to $25 a month. Most people see the $1 surcharge and think nothing of it but it adds up and they are certainly making a good little profit from it. It's really shameful such a huge company after a cash grab like this. I really like their pizza's but its a real shame for such a trivial charge which they should be be absorbing themselves, its just simply the cost of doing business. Shame on...

I recently had the pleasure of grabbing a pizza at Pizza Nova, and not only was the food fantastic, but the service was also memorable. I was served by a friendly and attentive employee—a tall, bearded gentleman with a warm smile and a helpful attitude. His energy and genuine enthusiasm for making great pizza truly enhanced the experience.

As for the pizza, it was perfection! The crust was thin yet soft, the toppings were fresh, and the cheese was melted to just the right degree. I am the biggest Pizza Nova fan, and have been for over 15 years. However, I think quality varies by location. This place is really a hit or miss. Sometimes I ask for extra cheese and sauce (slightly well done), and they give me LESS cheese than a normal pizza and burn it to a crisp. Sometimes, they make it much better than I anticipated. That's why I thought I'd give it a middle score, and give it a 3.
