Rave to Boston Pizza Wainwright, their amazing chefs tonight, and Kaitlin for her phenomenal service with a smile.
I have not been in a Boston Pizza anywhere for at least 5 years. Tonight, I thought it would be a typical chain restaurant with the average style menu. I was totally blown away. My better half and I had to go through the menu about four times before deciding what we were going to try.
The Shrimp Tacos was excellent! The breaded shrimp with a little tangy seasoning went awesome with the nice mixture of lettuce, red onions, cilantro, cheddar, and tomatoes topped with tortilla strips. It had a good sweet chili sauce lightly spread across the tacos.
The New York steak was tender, and had a nice hickory taste to it. No HP sauce needed :). The garlic bread was nicely baked and not greasy. The salad was good; But what caught my attention was the boiled vegetables. They were all flavorful and not soggy as I was expecting.
Since we were on a roll with the amazing entrees; We decided to get their Oven-Roasted wings. Half of them were Honey Garlic, and the other half were Salt & Pepper Dry Rub. They took a little longer than the Fried Wings; But it was totally worth the wait :) The Wings were juicy. The Honey Garlic was just the right amount of sweet. The Salt & Pepper was just as yummy.
We did manage to save some wings for a late night movie snack so that we could make room for dessert. The Apple Crisp was incredible! It had slices of Granny Smith apple which had a nice crunch instead of the typical soggy apples in an apple pie. It was oven baked to perfection; Everything tasted just right with the right amount of brown sugar, apples, oat crumble and their signature caramel sauce. The scoop of Vanilla ice cream on top is what I would call .... the icing on the cake ;)
Our server Kaitlin was phenomenal! She would check up on us at just the right times; Whether it was a refill on the Ice Tea, to see how the food was, and to take away the finished plates and utensils. The meals and dessert came out super hot. Our first 2 dishes was brought out by Beckie, the management of the evening; She was amazingly professional and pleasant.
Thank you Kaitlin for being so patient with us. Thank you to the awesome crew at Boston Pizza Wainwright for an...
Read moreOur server was amazingly friendly, bubbly and helpful. One of the best servers we've had in ages. She was extra diligent concerning our food allergies, paid exquisite attention to detail and communication was top notch. There was an oopsbin the kitchen so we did not get one dish we ordered however, the staff made sure to communicate with us at every step, were extremely apologetic and ready to make any concession we desired. They could not have handled it better. The food we did receive was perfection, hot and fresh. Keep up the great work! We will definitely stop in again. The restaurant itself is showing that it is well lived and frequented a great deal. Some extra cleaning is needed ( splattered wall in our booth, dusty light fixtures, and the carpets and the upholstery definitely need a good cleaning. ) Our table, cutlery and dishware were spotless however and the washrooms were clean and stocked....
Read moreWhew I need to change my review: We came here on boxing day. It was fairly dead when we got here. Our server was awesome! However it ends there. We waited close to an hour for food. When the food came, my wife's ribs were luke warm at best. And then she discovered a curly hair in her ribs. Our server swooped in and offered a replacement, but this was over an hour at this point and our baby was not having it. So we got a salad to go. Our tale of woe doesn't even end there. The kitchen started making the right salad, and ended up making a completely different salad. So to get the right salad we had to wait even longer. I was given a $20 coupon from a different incident in November that I brought in to pay for half our meal. The server used that coupon as a discount after she fully charged us for my pizza and my wife's salad. Absolute garbage place to go, will likely never go back unless no where...
