Anna's is a dying breed; in a Formica world it's a non-franchise experience. No drive through line to manoeuvre, no SkipTheDishes delivery guy to dodge as he speeds out the door, his Indiana Jones messenger bags flying out behind him. Just peeling paint and a countertop with no end cap. And it's wonderful. Your choices for a real breakfast are stopping here, or a one hour drive. And what a breakfast. No bacon sliced so thin that you need a micrometre or sausages the size of toothpicks. They put jam selections on the table, seemingly nonchalant about the cheapskates who fill their pockets. A sunny side up egg is just that - with the perfect amount of 'rooster juice', as my mom calls it. The waitress doesn't pretend you're her best friend, she is friendly and efficient×4. I don't know if Barbie would approve, but Ken is going back...

What a wonderful find in Cranbrook. The authentic Jamaican food and menu had something to satisfy everyone (kids and adults alike). From amazing poutine to spicy jerk chicken to fried chicken, wings and Mac n cheese and oxtail. The portions are huge and all meals left us super satisfied.. The coconut rice was a wonderful add on as well.

The service was friendly and inviting. Genuinely interested in making it a great experience even for the youngest member of our large group who is 4 years old:.

The atmosphere is very understated and it honestly does not look like much… but quality and experience makes this my new favourite the restaurant in the area. Couples, families and groups are all going to love it here. I can’t recommend enough. Well...

What can one say about Anna’s? A little known gem? The heartbeat of a small town? An oasis in the middle of the prairies? I’ll leave that up to you upon your visit.

Sue will knock your socks off with her efficiency and wit (I’ve never waited on a 20 table restaurant by myself, but she makes it look pretty easy). It’s like Game 7 for her all day but she handles it with ease and grace.
