I just had an awful experience at Boston Pizza and the manager by the name Allison, who happens to also be my server never took accountability nor apologized for the inconvenience that her incompetence caused me. I went in there with my family looking forward to an exciting time like we always do at our local Boston Pizza in Edmonton, not knowing this would dent the experience we've always had. I ordered the jambalaya fettuccine pasta for myself and told Allison severally not to include any shrimp as I have a severe allergy to it. After waiting for almost an hour, finally the food came, and I immediately dived in as I was so hungry. The moment I took the first spoon, I gagged. This a reaction I have to shrimp. I checked the food and behold it had shrimp in it. I immediately went to the washroom and started throwing up seriously. Allison never showed any empathy, apologized, or offered any assistance. There was another male server that was very kind, came to our table, apologized, and got me some menthol to help. Thank God for Him. Allison came over with the bill and vehemently refused to give a discount or any kind of appeasement for the inconvenience caused me. I didn't want to cause a scene in the presence of the kids, so we paid for the meal and left. I am utterly disappointed in this kind of service, and the worst part is Allison, on behalf of the restaurant, not taking any sort of accountability. My evening is ruined; my stomach is upset, vomiting, and I won't be able to keep anything down for a couple of hours now, and I left hungry. I spent the rest of the journey to Edmonton making stops on the way to throw up and all round discomfort and itching. I'm putting this out there to warn others that if Allison is your server, make sure you repeat numerous times any special instructions to your order and cross-check when your...
Read moreThis has to be the worst Boston Pizza I’ve ever been to — and I’ve been to plenty across Ontario, Calgary, and Edmonton. The service and food here were beyond disappointing.
First, I ordered a few items — an appetizer and two mains. Instead of asking whether I wanted the appetizer first (like every other Boston Pizza I’ve been to), the server brought everything at once. The table was so crowded with plates that there wasn’t even room for a regular eating plate. It felt rushed and careless.
Then, I ordered a Coke. At every other Boston Pizza, when you ask for a refill, they bring you a new glass and take away the empty one so the table stays clean and organized. Here? She just dropped another glass and completely ignored the empty one, adding to the clutter. Small detail, but it shows how poor the service was.
The food was no better. The pizza bread came out burnt — the crust was blackened. I had to send it back, and while they replaced it, the fact that something so obviously burnt left the kitchen says everything. My pasta was just as bad — the vegetables weren’t even cut properly. Huge chunks of green onion made it unpleasant to eat, and overall, the dish had no balance or quality.
Compared to every other Boston Pizza I’ve visited, this Red Deer location stands out in the worst way possible. Terrible service, badly prepared food, and no attention to detail. I honestly wouldn’t recommend this...
Read moreI have to edit this review (but my original review is below) as the experience we had today was a far cry from our last. It wasn't that busy and our food was slow and when it came most of it was was cold. I understand that "bowls" aren't meant to be super hot but we had two baracoa bowls and both were cold. The fries in the other orders were also cold and soggy and my dad's maple bacon burger was "ice cold". The only things that were hot were the pizzas and the wings. Also, the wait staff wasn't super great, the hostess specifically didn't seem very confident in her position and put out by our party of 6 adults and 3 kids and our server was a bit on the "short" side patience wise but she was trying to be pleasant, she might have just been having a hard day. I will still return, it wasn't super terrible, just a sharp contrast to the amazing experience we had last time.
We had a great experience at Boston Pizza in Gasoline Alley. We had three kids with us and although the food took a little longer than we'd like, it was nice and hot and fresh. Janina was super nice and made sure we got everything we needed (and cleared the plates away quickly which made our cluttered table a little more manageable). We all enjoyed our food, a great way to spend my nephew's 2nd Birthday. Oh, and the kids ate free, how...
