I went in expecting quality product and that is exactly what I got. And then some. My son and I stopped by and the first thing we noticed was a very good vibe. All the tables were full of customers enjoying the food and each other’s company. So far so good. But at the end of the day it’s the product that drives all this. We ended up getting some buns, white and whole wheat sourdough, raspberry scones and cruffins. That’s what was left when we were there at about noon. A decent selection considering it was an hour before closing. Oh, almost forgot to mention, I wouldn’t call myself a ‘bread expert’ but I did work as a baker for a year and I do truly appreciate good quality baked goods (and can recognize lower quality product when I taste it). We shared one bun in the car along with a scone. Very tasty. When we got home we tried the sourdough. Both were very good but the white was absolutely outstanding. Perfect crust. Perfect texture. Just the right balance of flavour. Tried it plain, then with cream cheese, then with Nutella - outstanding each time. I highly...
Read moreVery small sit down area inside, but the food was very good. We got an order of quiche, french toast, and the jambon guyere sandwhich. The quiche was good my kids devoured the entire thing. The French toast has a slight nutmeg apple pie taste (thanks to applesauce and carmely syrup) and everyone loved the fluffiness and yummiest of that. The Jambon has a ever so slight horse raddish sauce and was delicious. My only critique was that the top of the baguette was over toasted and pretty hard. But otherwise the taste of everything, including the not sweet and very yummy hot cocoa, was spot on. We also tried several different cruffins & pastries. The ham and cheese was delectable. The others were slightly dry. But the frosting of the cinnamon bun curbed the dryness of the bread. And the frosting on the other pastries helped.
I was say pastries 4/5 stars depending on which one you get, and brunch items that we tried were 5/5. The hot cocoa was not to rich and not to sweet and also not too hot so 5/5 for...
Read moreWent for pizza night the other night. I believe it was their first night being open for pizza so they were pretty overwhelmed. It did take over an hour for our food, but honestly it was worth the wait and I know that's just opening pains. The food was fantastic and everyone there was very pleasant. They also gave us some complimentary wine and dipping sauce as an apology for the long wait.
My only real complaint would be that the dipping sauce is amazing and really adds to the pizza, but it really should just come with the pizza. We never would have ordered it since it's $7 just for dip but it really added to the experience (and even when we go again we probably won't get the dip because I can't stomach paying $7 for 3 tiny little containers of dip, even though I know prices are crazy these days). Glad they gave us some for free for our long wait so we could experience it once, though.
But overall amazing and excited to go again - and excited to go try out their breakfast and...
