Nick's Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Alberta

When the waitress took us to our table she quickly brushed food of the table with her hand, not a good first impression, I ordered Cajun chicken Alfredo, my wife ordered veal and gravy with fries. When my order arrived it was a small chunks of chicken in a marinara sauce, I decided to stick with it rather than wait for a replacement, it wasn't edible, after two mouthfuls I couldn't eat anymore. Chicken was rubbery, the sauce just tasted of black pepper. The veal cutlets had a paste texture and they sat next to the driest pile of rice ever. It also came with slices of rubber carrot. The staff didn't give a hoot and said the owner was on his vacation at Disneyland leaving no one in charge who could deal with the issue. My diet coke left a chemical taste in my mouth so in all we paid $49 for the worst meal I have ever been served in a restaurant. I wouldn't even go back there if they gave me a free meal and paid...

I ordered full order of veal cutlets, it arrived with olive oil spreading around the plate. Started in at it and was unable to keep eating. Talked with staff and was told. They could try again, I was out of time and was not able and maybe willing to try again. I asked my waitress if I could pay for a half ordered as I did eat half of it. And she didn't spell English and was unable to talk back with me. The the head waitress come out yelling at me passing back and forth, then even yelling she was calling the cops and she would have to pay the difference out of her own money, then said the own says you pay. I told her that I did want to talk to him. But he was not there. Can't believe I was bullied by her to pay. When I was being fair with paying at all. Half order is only 5$ less. The sever was not attentive and didn't explain specials or daily features when we sat down she seemed like she didn't want to be there. The food was horrible chicken was rubbery and everything tasted processed and nothing was fresh the vegetables were soggy and there is absolutely no reason to have a plate that is more than half starch and carbs. My wife and i have tried eating here a few times since moving to Vermillion and we are disappointed each and every time. This place is an absolute no go for us from now on never again will we give our business to Nicks Restaurant worst restaurant in Vermillion hands down...
