If you're craving a true taste of Mexico, Old Mexico is the place to be! I had the enchiladas with a side of rice and beans (which wasnt technically on the menu but they were willing to add it), and wow—every bite was packed with flavor. The enchiladas were perfectly sauced and the beans had that slow-cooked richness that makes you feel like you're eating in someone's abuela’s kitchen. The atmosphere is just as impressive as the food. From the vibrant decor to the upbeat Mexican music playing in the background, it genuinely feels like you've stepped across the border. Warm, welcoming, and full of character—this spot is a gem. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!

We visited the restaurant while there is some hefty road construction going on. It added to the experience because we had to hunt a bit to find the entrance for our first visit. What we found was a very quaint little restaurant with some amazing people in it. It's a smaller place but the food packed such a big punch! We got the Fiesta platter for my wife and son, they found it to be more than enough for 2 of them(and I helped myself to a bit of it!). I had a chicken quesadila and thought it was fantastic! The limeade was a huge hit for everyone. All of the staff were busy and such a delight to talk to! It tasted just like a home cooked meal.

I used to go to this restaurant in Red Deer, and now that it has moved to Okotoks, it's great having authentic Mexican food close to home. The food is so good. I got the chicken tacos, and the green enchilada. It's like I've gone to Mexico City!! I'll be back again and again. The owner is a sweet heart. Very nice and friendly. Welcome to Okotoks!!

This place is fantastic! The food was outstanding, and the owner couldn’t have been more pleasant and funny. My wife had the super taco and I enjoyed the enchiladas—both dishes were excellent.

We definitely won’t need to make the trip to Calgary anymore for great Mexican food.

As for the 1-star review, it’s worth noting it had nothing to do with the food or service. It was simply someone upset about not finding a phone number. Every new business takes a little time to get fully settled, but that shouldn’t take away from the quality of the dining experience. Their hours are listed online, and they don’t take reservations. A phone call seems obsolete.

My advice: stop in, enjoy a great meal, and if something small like contact info is missing, just let the owner know directly. New businesses need the positive reviews, not the senseless...
