Park & Trestle Pub and Restaurant — Restaurant in Alberta

I generally love this restaurant but today was much less than satisfactory. I wanted the southwestern salad but they were out of ingredients for it so waitress recommended the Park & Trestle Salad, I agreed to try. It was nice and light with leafy greens and grapes sprinkled with a goat cheese crumb BUT I had ordered a hearty salad as a meal and this was NOT hardy. Oh well I thought, since I was still hungry I thought I can finally try the ginger cake that looks so delicious in the picture on the table that I never have room for. Wow! Super sweet! So sweet if I didn’t know what I had ordered I wouldn’t have been able to tell you the flavour or the kind of cake it was. Just soooooo sweet that I was buzzing on my way out. Thank heavens there was another person to eat it at the table. My husband ordered the special - steak sand with clam chowder. The waitress asked if he wanted fries or salad with it, he chose fries. Half way through the meal he realized that he didn’t get his clam chowder. He asked for it. The waitress said he asked for fries so that was what he got. So why was the special advertised on their board as Steak Sand & Clam Chowder? It should have been advertised Steak Sand & choice of side. His steak was done right and he enjoyed it but wow! Super disappointment overall. Will probably be a while before we head back there again. Our lives are so busy that moments like these when we have time to go out together are so few and far between, it seems like such a waste of time and money to go out and be disappointed so many times during a single meal. We should have just stayed home and enjoyed each other’s company and made our own...

Normally I don't really post reviews locally, but considering this is the third time it's happened in the third time we've been here recently I'm going to call it out.

I really don't know what the servers issues are, we've been pleasant; say please/thank you, all that fun stuff, and they always seem to get very cold with us after the initial ordering of food.

Maybe because we don't order alcohol? I'm not sure. But we don't get the servers coming back to our table to fill drinks (even when they're right by the edge of the table), or cleaning up our dirty dishes as we're done with the meals.

They always forget to bring us the extra condiments we've asked for during the ordering process... so we run out before the end of the meal (and like I've already mentioned they don't come back, so we don't end up getting it).

It's like they actively avoid eye contact, or any kind of looking at our table... but beeline to everyone else's. They literally went to other tables multiple times, but we had to get up and go to the bar to ask for napkins and whatever else we needed.

I don't know about the restaurant but the hotel part of it was horrible the maintenance was horrible there was a problem with the toilet it took over a month for them to get on it to get it fixed and we had to pay the full 650 for our room that had a private bathroom that we couldn't even use for a month. So if anybody needs to rent a room for a month I suggest that they find a different place because these people do not care about their customers they only care about the almighty dollar sad to see but that they're going they'll end up shutting down with her disgraceful business.
