We've been eating Armondos for years. Dine in and take out. I usually have nothing to complain about but it seems like the customer service and attention to detail needs some heavy improvement lately.
I ordered pizza for my wife and daughter and ordered pasta for myself. I ordered half pepperoni and half Hawaiian for the pizza. The Hawaiian half had onions on it? Never had a Hawaiian come with onions...just odd. Not a huge deal but still odd.
The real zinger was my pasta...I ordered a simple chicken fettuccine Alfredo...I recieved a seafood pasta dish with red sauce. Not even close to what I ordered.
I called and complained. They made another dish and delivered it. The driver pulled it out of his bag and handed it to me...sauce had leaked heavily out of the container, through the paper bag and was oozing out all over my foyer.
So here I am, holding a hot foil pan, leaking garlicky stank sauce allover my matts...what a freakin' mess.
So at this point, I'm irritated and hungry. I finally got the dish to my kitchen after my wife grabbed a plastic bag so it wouldn't leak all over the place. I opened the dish, no chicken...lol. Just pasta and runny, white sauce with absolutely no salt. Literally tasted like pasta and warm half and half.
I called back again and told the manager but all I was offered was an oppology. No refund.
Been eating there for years but Armondos has lost a long loyal customer....
Read moreTo say I love pizza is an understatement. Some have called me a bit of a pizza snob. I get it, yeah I just might be, but that’s ok. So, my wife and I recently moved to Amherstburg from the Halifax region of Nova Scotia, where we lived for the past 4 years in what I would call the pizza wasteland of Canada. Some Haligonians believe they have great pizza out there, not my experience. The only good ‘za we had in 4 years was a Margarita style from a food truck. That’s it. So when we were planning our move back to Ontario, and landed on the Windsor area, I started to research the local pizza places. I was happy to learn about the rich pizza culture, and couldn’t wait to dig in. Once we found our home in Amherstburg, we decided to start our pizza journey out here with Armando’s, and once trying Armando’s we have not found the need to try any other place. Tonight we had our first Professor’s Pizza, the Pepperoni Paradise, with one slight modification, the addition of green olives. I must, and I repeat, MUST have green olives on my ‘za! The Pepperoni Paradise was fabulous! I pick up all our ‘zas and I believe I’ve seen chef Dean in the back with his crew making ‘zas each time I’ve been in to pick up. You just know he loves what he does and it shows I what he and his team produce every time. I’d like to explore more Windsor area pizza places, which I know I should, but hard to switch it up when one has...
Read moreTonight all I can say is WOW.... I ordered dinner tonight. After finding out I tested positive for covid I decided I did not want to put the driver at risk so I called back explained that I had tested positive and didn't want to risk their driver so could I please pay over the phone... they were super friendly and said "of course!". After a couple attempts we realized the machine would not accept my visa debit... I was super upset, I have zero energy to cook anything, but understanding its not their fault, I said I'd just cancel my order. They apologized and wished me a good night..... less than 10 minutes later, the manager Dean called me back, said he was Not going to let me go with out dinner, we arranged payment in a safe way and he guaranteed the driver would be here soon and leave my food right outside my apartment door. He also gave me his managers name and told me that if I needed dinner or anything over the next week to just give them a call. I was in tears. Im incredibly grateful... and from what I could taste which wasn't much the food was really good. Cant wait to eat it again once my taste is back to normal! Thank you so much Amherstburg Armando's. You made a horrible day so...
