Fort Anne Cafe — Restaurant in Annapolis Royal

We are visiting again from the US and came back to the Annapolis Royal area to visit again. Had lunch at the Fort Ann Café today. It reminded me of some of the eateries from when I was growing up, combined with a more modern twist. I liked the décor inside. Again older style with a little more modern twist. Well done. We chose a nice little booth over the tables. Just our preference, but worked well for our visit. The food was very good at a reasonable price. Decent size portions and not a long wait for service or food. We both decided on the Fish and Chips. So we didn't explore the menu as well as I would like to have reported. Oh well. Anyway, we both enjoyed our meals. I'm glad we chose this establishment. The owner took the time to come over and greet us before we departed, which was very nice. And our server was wonderful in all aspects. If anything, we took up too much of her time. We actually felt welcome and appreciated for patronizing this nice little eatery. If and when I am again back in Annapolis Royal, I hope this great little place is still doing well. I would like to stop in again. Give them a try. You might...

Second time here and both times everything was super delicious. Husband had the House burger, works w/ fried onions and I had the Mushroom Swiss burger.. as is nothing added. Probably the best burger I have ever had. Angus beef.. aioli sauce is fantastic and the fries on the side hot as it gets. The cheese melts and is stingy kinda like you dream about for every pizza. I was wanting to review this place and it kept slipping my mind. So glad I got to do it today. I’ve been here four times in 2 months and have tried their sweet aloha burger ( juicy patty with awesome toppings), fish and chips (perfect batter, light and crispy with second craving of tartare sauce) and then the steak. Let me tell you about the steak… a perfect cut, generously marbled and cooked to medium rare perfection. I know most wouldn’t order a steak in a cafe but here you absolutely must. Service?
