Mad Hatter Wine Bar — Restaurant in Annapolis Royal

Can't believe we had not been here yet...a real gem in Annapolis Royal! Went for a date day, enjoyed a bottle of one of our favorite wines on the patio, and a vegan charcuterie board. The location and view is the best in town, we could have sat there all day. Very tranquil patio, tables are spaced out nicely, with lovely gardens. The owners are welcoming and lovely folks! The charcuterie was delicious and made with quality ingredients, we really appreciate that they have a vegan offering. This will definitely be a new spot for us for dates! The entire vibe is positive and the place is clean and well decorated, attention to detail is evident even in the bathroom. The book shop is also lovely, wish we had more time to peruse. The patio is the most amazing place to watch the sun go down in the summer. The wine selection is fantastic and the smoked salmon board was our favourite. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food and service we received. We stayed in Annapolis Royal for two nights and we spent about 4 hours here on both evenings. If you're traveling through Annapolis Royal you will not be disappointed if you stop by the Matter Wine Bar and Book Shop. As other have said, the charcuterie board is terrific. It's a lovely setting. There's no rush at the Mad Hatter. Enjoy a delicious meal, have a nice chat with the locals, and sip a glass, or two, or three of very nice local wines.
