Latest review I keep trying to support this place but the manager is still checked out, service is hit and miss here. Be better Alto! Your the only real restaurant on the hill when the golf course is closed. I recommend going to the golf course if you have the choice. **a second review** came back again to Alto and we were not disappointed - the pizza here is great - they have definitely dialed this in - don’t hesitate to come to Alto - and we are so happy that we squeezed in before the new B.C. lockdown - Order takeout you will be happy you did - great flavour and cooked to perfection- Marissa and her team deserve a pat on the back for sure :) **first review** Second time I have ordered this pizza. Second time I sent it back for under cooked shrimp. All other pizza is good but this is a fail on the chefs part. On. another note the food contamination is a problem. Watched the cook grab shrimp from prep container and the dug into veggie containers same glove. The is a fail by food health inspectors. This a great spot but needs some management doing there job and correcting this poor food handling behaviour. Only customer in place at noon on Saturday during COVD 19 scare and had to get there attention for service, wine glass was sitting empty for 30 min before I finally asked for a refill. Shouldn’t they be happy I’m there and falling all over themselves to help me spend money.

Located inside the Panorama BC Resort, Alto restaurant is situated right in the center of the attractions in the resort - it is just beside all the gondola rides going up the beautiful mountains. When in Panorama, I would recommend this place (and it is the most visible restaurant in the resort). My personal favorites are its pizza creations - specifically the Ham & Pineapple as well as its El Clasico flavours. I specifically like their Ham and Pineapple pizza because of its soft and delicious ham. The taste is also unique because their pizza is cooked in a brick oven. The interior of the restaurant is not only spacious, but it has already a modern design. The place would also be ideal for big family or even corporate gatherings because of its large interior size. When we went to this place this weekend, it was not so busy, so we were able to choose our own tables. We also ordered pop, and just to let you know it is also refillable (just in case you forgot to ask the server).

The atmosphere in this place is electric, the restaurant is cozy, charming, elegant, lively, modern, sophisticated, with a slight taste of only which that i can describe is that of Exquisite culinary for royalty personified 👑 luxury encompasses of this lovely restaurant, I recommend trying the salmon on toast with poached egg and baby delicious asparagus for breakfast truly delicious and my son recommends the big one that breakfast was hugge and it filled up my 6 ft 1 19 yr old , also i recommend trying the salmon entree the was also Truly outstanding The flavors (i think my salmon was cooked with that fancy fire salt)truly unbelievable, my son had the beef noodle and he was growling while eating it and it smelt phenomenal ! A truly spectacular experience, I really enjoyed my spiced Margherita, and I heard the raspberry lemonade was unbelievable !! The calamari starter WAS such 🔥 a good choice ! light airy crispy the sauce was a fresh homemade complement to the dish !!!

Decent food but lousy service.

Just went for dinner tonight, everything went well to start, friendly staff, came and got drink order. Then that is where it ended. Our drink order (wife had water and I got beer) took over 15 minutes to arrive and the waitress blamed it on how busy it was. Didn’t seem nuts but ok cut them some slack.

Then took our food order and after half an hour or so goes by comes to the table apologizing there was some error with the system and our ticket “got lost” but said they would comp us one of our pizzas. My wife, trying to make her feel better as she was quite flustered said she was regretting her choice of dish anyways so that works perfectly. Our pizzas came quite quick (about 10 minutes) and our server asked if she could get us anything else, I asked for a chilli shaker she had offered and another beer. Suffice to say that neither of these things came, and we did not see her again the entire meal to check how things were or if she could bring anything. We had to wave her down after 15 minutes of just sitting there when finished to get our bill.

She brought the bill and surprise surprise, full price and all items on the bill after being told we would be comped one. I asked about the discount/free item and she stammered saying oh i thought your wife said it was ok since she wanted to change her order anyways. Everything got super awkward. Normally I would tip super lousy for such terrible service (and I usually like to be quite generous with wait staff) but i felt awkward and decided to give the standard 15%. I did see her after shaking her head when she looked at the receipt too, not sure if she didn’t like the 15% or she knew she screwed up.

Either way, we are staying at the resort a few nights and will not be going back to Alto again, the food was decent and everyone pleasant enough, but the terrible service is enough to leave a...

The location could not be more convenient. Lovely space with an upscale and very tasteful decor.

Table of 18 assigned one well meaning ,polite but clearly undertrained and overwhelmed unfortunate server. A missed opportunity for management to properly groom a potentially valuable employee.

Food is thoughtful ,well presented and potentially excellent ,but served cold by a gaggle of other servers from the “Who ordered the Meatballs “school of hospitality. A number of orders sent back to kitchen to reheat while many others should have been. Delay follows delay.

Full disclosure probably at least fourteen separate checks requested. This would place a burden on any establishment. The poor server was not trained to ask about this before taking guest’s’ orders.

Two hours and forty five minutes later after a 5:00 pm reservation moved up from 6 :00 pm by management a mostly single plate per diner event still in chaos over improper charges scrambled orders etc.

The previously invisible manager who came in to help mouthed bland platitudes but offered nothing of substance to assuage ruffled feathers..

Understaffed ,untrained dining room . A kitchen that lacks pride enough to be sure that no dish leaves their hands that isn’t their very best effort. I won’t even mention the under done pizza at lunch despite a spectacular Italian beehive pizza oven .

Management take heed . Hospitality is a serious responsibility. This group will be back for another dinner in 48 hours...
