Excellent food! Why 3 stars? Well, the service was really lacking. The other reviews are correct, the food is excellent and the service is very friendly. In fact I'd go as far as to say it's on par with most fancy 5 star restaurants, if you get it. Of course regulars at any restaurant get special treatment, but here it seemed like if you were Italian you got the normal treatment but not anyone else. I'll elaborate as well; chosen tables had the menu and specials explained upon seating, their food was brought out fast, and service was great. I noticed us and 2 other tables with Asian customers were mostly ignored. I'm not saying the service was bad (it would still be considered great service at any other restaurant), it just wasn't the same level of friendliness and attentiveness.
I'd definitely recommend coming here for the food, and if you happen to be born with the correct skin color then your experience will be even better!
Edit: replying to the owner and attaching a photo of the screenshot of their original comment so they can't edit it.
Your response is actually hilarious, both because it's inaccurate and because it shows your character while you're bringing mine into question. The irony is simply delightful.
When you said you remembered where I was seated I was pleasantly surprised. Then you brought up the free dessert part, and I was quite confused. Then I realized you're angry because you got me mixed up with another Asian customer, and you thought I wrote a review because you denied them free dessert?
To clarify, you got the wrong person. I never asked for anything on the house, I paid for my food, drinks, dessert, and I left a 20% tip. Because as I've said originally; the service was good, I just noticed a huge disparity.
Maybe you shouldn't be so insecure and resort to personal attacks of character when you're faced with a negative review. Maybe, just maybe...the customer is just writing how they truly felt without any ulterior motives.
Lastly, complaining about the hardships of owning a restaurant then bringing lawyers (got extra money to burn?) into it...classy.
Edit 2: in your response to me calling you racist "the way I did". You may not realize what you're doing, and to get so defensive about it instead of just acknowledging it, saying you and your staff will do better, and moving on...it says a lot. You didn't even know who I was, you automatically assumed I was someone else based on your own biases.
I didn't even say you and your staff were racist, you said that. Why is that the first conclusion you come to? Maybe do a bit of reflecting on that. Nowhere in my review did I say I was treated poorly. I explicitly said the service was good, tables of white customers just got much better service. That is all, I did not say I was treated poorly. If it was just my table, then I wouldn't have thought more about it. But I saw the way you treated the 2 other Asian tables as well. Was it just a coincidence that I saw you and the staff chatting up white customers, explaining the menu, explaining all the different specials? While mine and the other Asian tables were simply handed a menu, and our orders were taken?
I really don't care what you think of me, or my character. I did not write my review for you. The only reason I'm spending time typing these responses is in hopes that you realize you can do better for the next customer. If you don't want to, that's fine, it's a free country. You can chalk it up to just another bad review amongst the many great reviews you have, it doesn't bother me. If I can help one person avoid feeling the way I felt then this was time well spent. Or even just to set their expectations; if I had known the way I was going to be treated was going to be different but the food was still worth it, I wouldn't be typing...
Read moreCasa Carbone, a supposed Italian restaurant, has unfortunately gained a reputation for its bad customer service, overcooked pizza, disgusting overpriced wine, and fake staff who try to act Italian. This essay aims to provide an analysis of these issues and explain why they contribute to a negative dining experience at Casa Carbone. Firstly, the bad customer service at Casa Carbone is a major concern. Customers have reported rude and unhelpful staff, long wait times for food and drinks, and even incorrect orders. The lack of attention and care towards customers can make the dining experience feel unwelcoming and uncomfortable, causing customers to not want to return in the future. Secondly, the overcooked pizza at Casa Carbone is another issue that affects the quality of the food. Pizza is a staple dish in Italian cuisine, and it is disappointing to receive a pizza that is burnt or not cooked enough. This is especially true when considering that the prices at Casa Carbone are higher than other Italian restaurants in the area, leading to customers feeling like they are not getting their money's worth. Furthermore, the overpriced and disgusting wine selection at Casa Carbone also contributes to the negative dining experience. It is not uncommon for Italian restaurants to charge a premium for their wine, but the quality of the wine should reflect the price. Unfortunately, Casa Carbone fails to deliver on this aspect, with customers often describing the wine as undrinkable and overpriced. Finally, the fake staff who try to act Italian also add to the negative dining experience at Casa Carbone. Customers have reported that the staff use fake Italian accents, try to force Italian phrases into conversation, and even wear stereotypical Italian clothing. This can make the dining experience feel inauthentic and insincere, with customers feeling like they are being fed a false sense of Italian culture. In conclusion, Casa Carbone's bad customer service, overcooked pizza, disgusting overpriced wine, and fake staff who try to act Italian all contribute to a negative dining experience. With so many Italian restaurants to choose from in the area, it is likely that customers will choose to spend their money elsewhere where they can get a better dining experience. Casa Carbone must take steps to address these issues if they want to regain customer trust and attract...
Read moreWe went here 3 weeks ago. We wanted to try out a new restaurant with our friends and given the high review rate, we were optimistic. The first red flag was when they were low in stock of food items such as Caesar salad, lamb chops, and certain ingredients for cocktail drinks, etc. But you know, it's best to give people the opportunity rise to the occasion. And with the current issue in the economy, I can understand the possible challenges with getting food items on time.
Food arrived, appetitizers and cocktail were good, not worth the prize. Pasta was not provided as advertised on the menu, didn't taste that great, but manageable. I mean, this is where I wished I would have gone to Don Alfonso 1890 or Tremonti Ristorante (which I'm definitely going to just stick to these places). Sorry, but I've had better experiences (and these are places you definitely call a high end restaurant).
Service was decent in the beginning. Server looked grumpy but you know, you can't judge a book by its cover. Well in the case, things went sour with the server at the end of our dinner. Let's just say, he wasn't happy with the tip $$, made it well known that he wasn't happy with it by voicing his opinion to the guest and obviously to his colleagues, lightly flinged the reciept at us . He made it seem like we gave nothing. I think we were very generous considering the experience we had from the beginning. FURTHERMORE....lol yes it gets worse, he wasn't happy we were speaking in different language and server got upset and said we should stop (I know, I wish I was exaggerating but I'm not). Truth be told, what was said in the language was, what happened? Is everything okay? This was directed to us by our guests. It is a freedom of speech. We wouldn't have a problem if he was speaking to his colleagues or other customers in his own language. Oh well.
Overall, I wish the Owner of the restaurant best of luck. Perhaps, server was having a bad day. Unfortunately, we won't be visiting again.
But I think what sucks more for them is that we will be deterring away some of our friends from reserving this place for a social...
