What an amazing meal. My girlfriend got the T-bone steak with salad and a baked potato, while I got the chicken fingers and fries. First off the steak. If perfection was a dish this would be it. She adored the flavor, meat, potato and honestly everything about this dish. Additionally, the price was SUPER REASONABLE for the 16oz T-bone and you'd be hard beat to find a better steak at a similar price. Their is a reason this place come up online when you search "best steak in Edmonton" and has over 2000 reviews with a killer high rating. These people know their steak and make sure you get a top quality meal. The chicken strips and fries were good and flavorful. The breading was not too thick and the chicken was moist. The fries could have used some seasoning salt or something but overall a minor complaint for how amazing the whole meal was. Do not skip this place if in Edmonton or you will be missing out on possibility the best meal you'll have this year!

It has been a number of years since I've eaten at Coliseum Steak and Pizza, and the consistency has never let me down. Don't get discouraged when you drive up, nd the parking lot looks full. The restaurant accommodates a lot of people. Both me and my dinner guest had the steak special. It was accompanied with French onion soup. Followed by desert home made apple pie and cheese cake. The stesk was cooked to perfection and was a very tender cut of meat. I have never been let down when I have eaten here over the years for the food, service and the friendly hospitality given here.

Food - good in my books. I asked for a blue steak, and they gaver blue!!! Fries were crispy with a slight touch of salt. So yummy and the gravy that comes with. Price however it's very much worth and reasonable. The portion was huuuuuuge. Service was unbeatable. Best iv seen in months. Waitress was fast, reliable. Never had an empty glass. Atmosphere, ok , here's where it's a bit off. Owner, please, your tables and placements of chairs is very, inefficient. Needs a better layout. Probably a bit of a face lift, I felt like I was in my grandmothers basement..

Update Feb 2024 I have been eating here since the 70s. Have always really liked the food, especially tje steaks. We were there Feb 6th for supper. There were 6 other people dining at 6:00.

Had two 12 ounce striploins. Ordered mine med rare, it came rare, I am okay with underdone. Order my wifes medium, it came rare, sent it back. Same steak comes back 15 minutes later, still rare, sent it back again, comes back 15 minutes later and now is well done. I was already long finished my meal. My wife ate it, even though it was overdone as she was hungry and we had an appoinment.

Server was very apologetic, manager took her steak off the bill but only after I pushed the waiter to refer it. Originally he showed up with the full bill, not even a comp on her wine or an offer of dessert. To be fair I think this was maybe his first or second day working there. That said, we don't go there for free food, we have been going there for 50 years because the food has ways been spot on.

This is the second time in the past few months where the steaks were not done as ordered, the other 2 times were good.

We will go back again because of history but they really need to get their old mojo back. Moved from 5 stars to 4. If we have this problem again we will need to find a new steak house.

April 2023 Place has been great for almost 50 years. I ate here first time just after they opened. Still a top favourite for a great steak. One of the few places that makes one as good as I do.

Two small suggestions, they should really look at adding gluten free pasta to their menu given 25% of the population is gluten intolerant. That said there are a ton of options on the non-pasta part of the menu that are gluten free. Second, I hope they go back to the great steak fries they served up until recently. These new coated ones are what everyone else serves, and aren't...

Had my birthday dinner here with my young daughter. As soon as I declined alcohol, my server seemed to check out on me. It was pretty busy and I said “I guess I should’ve made reservations” and my server snapped back “yeah, you should have”. I felt so unwelcome on my special day. Didn’t think it be a big deal because there was only 1.5 of us. I tried to shake it off and told her I always order appie, steak and lobster and will have a birthday desert. I was trying to let her know my bill would still be high so she would be tipped well. She was quite blunt to inform me that they do not do “free deserts”. I felt a bit offended because I wasn’t expecting it free.

We order fries and gravy to start then a New York with lobster and shrimp. When the food arrived, I was surprised that my shrimp were deep fried (I wouldn’t have ordered them). They squirted fishy oil when I had bit into them. To me they weren’t very good and way too fishy tasting. My lobster was so rubbery I could barely cut it apart and my medium rare steak was nearly well done. It was turning into a nightmare of a birthday. Our server didn’t come to do a quality check so I had to wait and flag her down. She seemed efficient at her job but was far more interested in the bigger tables. When I told her about my food, she didn’t like what I said and took the seafood away but said my steak was medium. It was definitely more than that but I didn’t want to argue. So I ate a little and just took it home to make a salad next day so it wasn’t wasted.

The baked potatoe had Tin foil embedded deep in the potatoe flesh which sucks when you have fillings like me.

Overall it was an awful birthday meal and i was so hopeful to support a local heritage business.

The Apple pie however, was...

Table of 5.

We had 2 stakes, 2 fish and chips, and 1 pizza (me). The stakes were received very well, both looking like they were asked for, medium rare, and medium. One of the stakes got the potatoes while the other had the salad, both people said they were also good. My only thing would be that rather than having the waiting staff dress the potato, just give the dressings to the person to put on, we needed a second round of sour cream and i think this process would just be easier for everyone involved and take some pressure off the staff.

Fish and chips people didn't say much else to me other than they were good.

Pizza for me was done well. Ingredients tasted fresh, pizza was cooked well, and it had lots of toppings ( meat lovers ). My only thing, and this seems to be a common trend for me, is that i could go for more sauce. I dont need it drenched, but it could have used maybe a little more.

The waitress was also very good, maybe a little too persistent while we were looking through the menu. The place was busy when we were there, so maybe just trying to turn over the table a little faster, but she had to come back 4 times before we were ready ( some mild conversation was happening at the table for )

The atmosphere seemed good, not too gaudy, and...
