So, we got caught up on the Cabot Trail, so we were late for our reservation. As such, we got a table that was not ideal. I chalk that up to our own fault, not the restaurant. I had the Beef Tenderloin, which was okay (but it should have been way better than just okay at these prices). My wife had the Risotto and it was borderline inedible with the amount of salt and the steak in it was overcooked. It also took over an hour to get an entree after my appetizer scallops (Which were delicious, but three scallops the size of a quarter does not equal $20+) Empty wine glasses just sat on the table for over 20 minutes at one point and the waitress (who was nice enough, she may have been just busy, but still) walked by 13 times before she offered to refill them (yes, we counted, we were bored). $250 (including tip) on my birthday and the only thing I can recommend about this place is the pizza across the road. The room and setting were...

I simply cannot say enough about this wonderful dining experience. The menu was exciting and interesting yet unpretentious and based upon fresh, locally sourced, and seasonal produce that was prepared to perfection. The service was relaxed and friendly yet most attentive and timely, indicative of the skill and understanding of what it takes to provide an excellent experience. I had crab cakes that were all crab, beautifully and delicately seasoned, and lobster risotto unlike any that I have had. I savoured every mouthful. My husband had stuffed pork medallions that were tender and moist, and he was not willing to share! The deserts were also interesting and unpretentious, and the sticky toffee pudding and apple crisp ice cream did not disappoint. The overall experience goes to show that an outstanding chef understands that good food can also be naturally...

One of the best meals I have had in a long time. Do fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. We have food allergies and it was so wonderful to have many options to choose from. The chicken dinner was generous serving and loved that it had a variety of perfectly cooked veggies and addition of cranberry sauce. I had the white wine and it was perfect. Our waitress answered our questions and was so nice. (sorry forgot your name, beautiful petite older lady) We most appreciated that they could fit us in without a reservation that evening. We were honouring my dad that night so it really...

I stopped in for solo dinner and ended up having one of the most lovely evenings. I sat outside on the expansive porch and my server, Judy, who was so warm and friendly throughout the meal, took great care of me. The scallops were very good, but the halibut dish was outstanding. Judy explained that they try to locally source their ingredients, which is reflected in their recipes and cooking. Between the pleasant evening ambiance, the excellent service, and the incredible food, I rank my meal here among the top I’ve had in a long while. I’ll be back next time I am in Baddeck!

This was our final dinner after a two week trip across Nova Scotia, and it was by far the best dining experience of the entire journey. The atmosphere, the food, and the service were all exceptional, truly unmatched. It was the perfect and most memorable way to end our trip. Our group included people with food allergies, and everything was handled with great care and attention. The menu is thoughtfully curated, offering a selection of perfectly executed dishes rather than a large list of average options. Highly recommend an outstanding experience from start to finish.

For the restaurant only, not the hotel. Food was delicious. It is obvious that great care goes into the ingredients and presentation. Fresh, local ingredients. Tasty. We had the lobster salad, the pork tenderloin and the haddock. All were fantastic. Service friendly, attentive (without being smothering), and did not take forever. After traveling throughout Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, and encountering many places offering pretty much the same types of meals, it was wonderful to find this little oasis. Highly recommended.
