Chef Chan — Restaurant in Barrie

We knew Chef Chan, like many take out services, would be busy on New Years Eve. We phoned Chef Chan the evening before New Years Eve Day to place our order. We had a significant order of food amounting to over $100.00 of our family New Years Eve Dinner. Chef Chan was extremely busy, being as well known and loved in Barrie as they are, so we were not surprised that on such a busy day they were already booked with pre-orders from 4 PM to 7 PM. Nonetheless, we placed our order for as close to 7 as possible. They originally felt it would be 7:15 PM but promised a 7 PM pick up time. We drove to Chef Chan for 6:50 PM, went in and paid for the food, which is not required ahead of time, but we felt would speed things up. They staff were VERY calm and VERY polite and professional. One on the workers told me they were now working on our order (6:55 PM). I had envisions of having to wait, maybe an additional 15 minutes, but at exactly 7:02 PM a lady came out to the lobby and handed me the bags of food. RIGHT ON TIME!! Once we drove home and opened the containers we were surprised at the quantity of food. And when we started eating, we ALL agreed, this was the freshest, tastiest Chinese food we've had from any Chinese Restaurant in Barrie. Even the broccoli in a couple vegetable dishes was perfectly cooked and really fresh looking and tasting. Chef Chan has been a long time favourite of local Barrie businesses and we have no hesitation at all recommending them. We've tried many but all long as Chef Chan remain as consistent as they are known to be, they will be our Chinese Restaurant of...

Horrible On September I placed an order for catering. A big order for a party for 15 people. The meat was old and wasn’t good. It gave our guests food poisoning. They complained that our food made them sick. Their kids didn’t go to school for days. How is this restaurant still open. How has the health department approved them to be open. When we call them to complain there is a language barrier and they dont understand us. They keep saying I dont know. The lady who answered the call is very rude and doesn’t know how to speak with customers. We will be filing a complaint with the health department . The store we placed our order is from 190 minet point rd. Pretty sure that is the address of your store at the barrie location. I called your store to complain and the lady who answered was very rude and didn’t understand what we said. Not sure why your lying but every single one of my guests now have food poisoning thanks...

The only Chinese food i will buy..and i live south of Orillia..so its a 35 minute drive for me to pick up. My parents lived in Stroud for over 20 years and once a month we would do this as dinner..never disappointed-great taste and the quantities were unreal..a dinner for 4 could easily feed 6 or 7 people.. I know its under new owners in the last cple of years..but ive still found the taste,quantity and quality to be on par with the previous owners.. The dinner for four #B is the best deal..the shrimp and chicken balls arent soaked in greasy batter where you only get batter..the beef and chickn dishes are loaded with both and fresh veggies.. I love the fact that i can freezer bag what i dont use and reheat later and its just as good.. My parents are no longer living there but i still drop by every 3-4 months and get my fix.. Keep up the good work..to me its worth the drive to get what ive always liked..and ill...
