The best Thai food restaurant in Halifax hands down!!! This is my 3rd time visiting Thai Ivory Cuisine, I visited the Quinpool.rd location years ago and the location attached to the hotel on the Bedford Highway.
Yesterday I visited the new location on the Bedford Highway and it was cozy and very nicely decorated.
The owners were so kind and caring, just like you are family. The experience for just picking up a takeout order was amazing and it makes you smile.
We ordered several dishes to go, green curry with chicken, vegetable panang curry, mango stir fry,2 coconut soup, wonton soup, Thai soup, sticky rice with peanut sauce and 4 spring rolls.
The food was AMAZING, the coconut soup was just delicious, I could have had 4 of them the Thai soup and wonton soups were so delicious.
The green curry and panang curries were outstanding and made authentic, they are far superior to any Thai restaurants I visit back home in Ontario. The spring rolls were out of this world and so tasty and crispy.
I'll be back again to try some other delicious dishes and more of that amazing coconut soup!!
Definitely a must visit if you like Thai food, hands down top of the list for Thai restaurants for me.
P. S: Forgot to take pictures of the food we picked up, because it was just so delicious I didn't even think about it!! Next time I will take plenty of pictures.
Updated visit on 2025/08/13 - Food and service is still top notch, the owners are just amazing people who care about serving great tasting Thai food and great...
Read moreUber Eats order - if we were in the restaurant i would have dealt with it in person.
Cha Baa Thai is my go to and since they dont do Uber Eats we opted for Thai Ivory (a new place for me); been to Thailand and love Thai food but feel like I made a huge mistake ordering from here for an April 2025 dinner:
The good: I ordered Pad See Ew which is basically vegetables & rice noodles and hard to screw up; reheated leftovers were tasteless but whatever. Shrimp chips were okay - not enough dipping sauce though.
The bad: Starving hubby couldnt even eat his Lemongrass Chicken - it was like someone dumped an entire package of grass seed - lots of hard gritty pieces. Picture taken next day and those pieces were still not soft. Entire dish was inedible and we chucked it - $19.00 plus the cost of chicken.
And the ugly: To add salt to my starving hubby’s wound, to accompany the lemongrass chicken dish, day old hard jasmine rice was provided. This was not ordered by us but provided by the restaurant. Rice was so hard it was crunchy, starchy and was obviously sitting out for a very long time, refrigerated and then served. Serving rice like this would be considered a crime in Bangkok.
I want to give this place another chance but for price difference ($5.00) and portion size - Cha Baa Thai will always...
Read morePlaced a call to see if the store did delivery which i was told they did, called back and placed my order from the online menu, got it delivered to find a $6.00 delivery charge which was not informed about and $2 increase in the price of the food from the online menu. Called the store and was told that my order was input at 3 pm and that the price online ended at 3 pm.....and also informed that they don't get any of the money from the delivery company and when I told them that even if they do not receive any money they should inform the customer of the charge, I was told it was up to the customer to know. My meal which should have been $15 came to $24.72......ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS....would never have ordered if I had known of the charge, I could feed myself and my 2 kids for the price of that lunch which now seems very bitter. Then come to the realization after the delivery guy is gone that my $2.50 bottle of sprite is NOT with the order, i called and was asked if i wanted to come up and get the pop as they had no one to bring it to me....I am at work and unable to walk (i take the bus) to get the pop so now i have received a $12 meal for $25. NOT AT ALL IMPRESSED and NO customer service skills at all....blame the...
