Food was decent and some dishes were relatively authentic. However, the service and setting was unprofessional and rude. The restaurant was freezing cold. No water or drinks were offered. The rice arrived well after we'd begun our dishes that needed rice, and upon calling for help, they were slow and curt in response. On top of that, the place was freezing. It felt like it was 14 degrees C. Everyone there was wearing their WINTER jackets. The child I was with was getting her bulky jacket all over her food. When we asked if the heat could be put up as we were frozen, they brushed us off rudely. On top of that, we paid a heck of a high price for what we got. For two 7/10 dishes at a small to medium size, with rice, and two drinks it came to $54. Not a good deal for pretty standard fare. Along with them overpricing the food, I think they managed to pull in a few dollars by saving on their electricity bill and lack of staff training. No tip....
Read moreI'm not sure why there are negative reviews for this restaurant. This is obviously a hole in the wall restaurant with pretty cheap price with one front of house staff and a couple of kitchen staff. I wouldn't expect fine dining services. If it takes a bit of time, it is probably because they are making food from scratch vs. some fast food restaurants where things are pre-made and simply heated up.
I ordered a few traditional Chinese dishes, and the chef and staff were tentative and asked about my preferences. I lived in big cities like Toronto and Vancouver, and tried Chinese food all over the world. The portion was good. Flavour was as good as it gets given the limited Chinese ingredients available in this part of Canada. The hot and sour soup was the best I've tasted in years. The meat was well marinated and tender. Both pork and beef.
I will definitely...
Read moreToday was our first time going to this restraunt. We like to try the little nooks and cranny type spots because they seem to usually be the best. This place was ok in my opinion.I had the vegetable chowmein. It tasted alright but It was a very small portion for a full serving.Finished it in about 8 bites and was still quite hungry. She had the Singapore noodles and she liked them with a descent size serving.Almost twice the size of my plate.Hate to be one of then complainers but also found it strange that there was a woman pacing back and forth the whole time over the whole restraunt talking on the phone chasing a small child around.Im assuming maybe one of the owners. Was kind of weird.I hate to call it quits on a spot with and base my review upon one meal/experience.But I cant see my self heading back to this place. It might be for...
