Welcome to my how to guide on enjoying a meal at McDonalds. I typically stop at McDonald’s 1-2 times a month, however I’ve been a customer for about 35 years.
HOW TO ENJOY YOUR MCDONALD’S VISiT:
Ask for your food to be made fresh; you will wait an extra 5-10 minutes, however your food will be HOT rather than dried out “sitting in a heating tray all day”. The staff have always accommodated my request & my meal always tastes good (for McDonalds)
Thank the cashier, and let them know you are happy to wait. Some cashiers will be very sweet and others not so much - depends on the day, but everyone has bad days, and I’m sure the workers deal with a lot!! They all need to be paid more in my opinion. Nothing worst then putting pressure on them, your food will turn out better if you give them time & show gratitude for their services.
Drive thru is the best/fastest way to be serviced. Sometimes they will forget about your order if you do a walk in, so drive thru is always the best way to ensure you don’t get forgotten. There will be a 3rd window, or some pull ahead parking spots to wait at for when your fresh food is ready.
If you are dining in, bring wet wipes or sani-wipes. You will want to wipe down the table and seats you sit at prior to settling down. Often I find the seating & tables inside to feel grimy/waxy and giving things a wipe before you sit will make sure you don’t get grease stains on your clothing or transfer bacteria to your food etc.
I recommend using your home bathroom before you go to McDonalds. Bathrooms at the stores are often in bad shape, locks on doors broken etc. I’m sure most people know this already. Most fast food places are like that.
Finally, if you don’t mind McDonald’s corporate having all your information, their app will also save you some $$ and give you promos/points. I don’t personally use the app, but I could have saved $.25 on the drink I bought today; which adds up over time if you are a McDonald’s regular; Along with earning points for their program.
Ok, this is the last one. If by some chance you do get a meal that isn’t great. Consider going online to McDonalds website, you can submit a form with your receipt and visit details. Corporate has a quality control division which will mail you some coupons for a meal plus extra to replace what you bought. Yes I know it takes a little bit of time and you have to wait, BUT at least they will do something for you and often they send more value in free meal coupons than the initial purchase you made.
Anyways, hopefully if you read this far you will be ready to enjoy your McDonalds visit.
Good luck and wish...
Read moreOne star because for the most part, this location was always good to me I use to go here daily for coffee. Then an accident in the drive thru led to absolute distrust. The manager of this location promised me that they would cover the expenses incurred from the accident. So naturally I proceeded with corrections and repairs. Sent my receipts in and had the ‘regional manager’ as she said on the phone (actual title in email signature was Communications and Events Lead) respond with, ‘We have reviewed the video and it is clear that the cup was handed correctly by our staff, however the lady in the car grabs the coffee by the top with one hand and the side with the other which pushes the lid off and causes her to squeeze the cup. (I grabbed the cup by the side and tried to catch it with my right hand as it started to collapse) Unfortunately this is what caused the coffee to spill. For that reason, we cannot accept any liability. If you would like to discuss further please feel free to contact me.’ We requested the footage and were told that they were not permitted to show me. But why bother with any of it? If the footage had found me at fault, why not say that up front? That’s okay, I don’t fully understand the law protecting that but it does exist (and seems to protect those in the wrong from where I’m standing). But why make false promises to pay for repairs only to throw that in our face once we submitted the receipts. If the cup was handed to me correctly, why did the manager of the location tell me that she had a meeting with the staff to discuss handling situations like mine and how it was handled incorrectly and promise me that she was to have the same meeting with the staff of the next shift. ‘What happened and the way it was handled was unacceptable.’ Why ask me to provide receipts and promise to help rectify it? Why not just say, up front, we reviewed the footage and you were in the wrong so ‘you’re on you’re own’? So as long as you’re careful, attentive and ensure you couldn’t possibly ever be in the wrong if something went wrong, you’ll be fine in...
Read moreI know not to expect great things when I go to a mcdonalds. However, I'm not exaggerating when I say that every single time I've ordered from the counter here, something is messed up or wrong. This is also using the self-serve kiosk. So there should be no room for error.
The other day, I ordered two chicken mcmuffins with no mayo. One showed up with mayo, the other without cheese.
The time before that, I waited 10 minutes for a black coffee. Only to receive what I suspect was a french vanilla latte. I usually prefer mcdonalds coffee to tims or a&w, but this location is serving up colored water at best.
Sometimes, when you make the mistake of ordering at the till, you get to see a worker milling around the front of the restaurant, making small talk with people while a line forms.
Whenever you bring up a problem to the front-end staff, the older managers make sure that you know it is your fault for ordering wrong. And then proceed to verbally berate some other staff member. The lack of respect or professionalism by management has been noticed.
The drive through is usually a safe bet. The younger staff do a good job there. But the front end is a mess.
Now, no one cares, because it's mcdonalds. A faceless corporation doesn't care about a nobodies google review. But I would be remiss if I failed to review and mention such a disappointing experience in my community.
Pick the A&W or Tims instead for your cheap...
