Rather odd experience. I mean, it's a typical McDonald's located on Québec. It's the first McDonald's you'll encounter when you cross into the Canadian side of the border so it's rather busy. Sure, it's in Québec so I know most of the population here speak French, but the kiosk with an English option made the ordering easy without getting my terrible French skill judged by anyone. That's cool. The US McDonald's app didn't work so no additional app-points for me. That's fine, too. The menu's a little different from the US ones (no Big Breakfast, just pancakes with hash brown option). Even that's fine. After ordering, I went to wash my hands and the food was already out by the time I came out. Now, that defines fast food - AWESOME!
So here's where it gets odd - no condiments (ketchup or syrup, etc), no napkins, and no utensils. My wife managed to get the WOODEN utensils and napkins from one of the ENGLISH-SPEAKING teen, who helped her. Nice. I went to ask for some syrup and ketchup and NO ONE would come up to the counter for over (at the very least) 7 minutes. Yes, there were other customers standing around, unsure if they were just waiting for their orders or waiting TO order but there were about 6-7 others, just standing around with me, watching about 10-12 workers inside running around like they're having a field day. I figured the condiments were just extra calories I didn't need so I gave up and stuffed down the dry pancakes, washing it down with the coffee. The foods weren't bad by any means. Just... dry...

People parked in the spaces next to me who ordered AFTER me got their orders. I went inside to see if they forgot my order..they told me someone would be right with me..and again I’m waiting, and I’m being ignored. My daughter was waiting in the car so I left frustrated. I NEVER become impatient of it’s a reasonable amount of a delay. But this was crazy for the biggest fast food chain in North America. It’s FAST food. Read moreSoggy fries and stale apple pie. When you pass through the drive thru around 2:30 or 3:00 am, the restaurant is completely closed. They say that it is because they are restarting the restaurant, now I can understand that computers need to be reboot once in awhile, but as a dj, I finish and am out by 3am and pass by to get a coffee, its annoying to see 6 to 8 employees sitting in the chairs all looking at their phones, literally doing nothing. Last experience, ordered a coffee, they gave me a cup with a broken edge, I grabbed the cup and it literally fell out of my hands as the edge of the cup caved into the actual cup, spilling coffee all over me and worse, my car screen, which made it stop working.
