Not everything that’s POPULAR is the BEST.! We ended up at this restaurant after Bâton Rouge Grillhouse & Bar, the neighboring restaurant, canceled our reservation — a reservation we’d made two weeks in advance for a group of 20. Apparently, they have a policy that limits reservations to 8 people per email address, which is, frankly, absurd. So, there we were, standing out in the chilly autumn air with five kids, trying to find a place to celebrate our friend’s birthday. That’s when we walked over to this restaurant, and they immediately organized a space to accommodate our entire group together.

For that — and so much more — I’m writing this review. We didn’t know this place before, but what a fantastic experience! From the host at the door to the team serving us at our table, the customer service was EXCEPTIONAL. The food? SPECTACULAR. Generous portions, fair prices, and an amazing ambiance.

Having been here before I’m upset that the experience was such garbage today. So to start a hostess was very rude, I’m not going to get into those details, she was a child. But when we were seated and ready to order the first thing our server did was almost argue that they dont have hot honey. It is an ingredient on one of their pizzas and I like to add it to the pepperoni pizza. After we all ordered at 2:00pm it was taking so long and she barely came to see us. At 2:35 exactly I called over the manager and asked why our food was taking so long. He came back and said she was busy and only put in the order 6 min prior so he assured us the food was being rushed. When he saw my obvious irritation he indicated that he would take care of our bill somehow. When our server came she was arrogant and didn’t even apologize. When our bills came nothing was adjusted and I was too busy to even bother saying anything. There are plenty of other restaurants in the fobourg I won’t be going back. Also my burger was super dried out and grey. Very below average...

Understand that we showed up at 9:15pm and was warned that the kitchen was closing at 10pm. With that understanding, we ordered our food as fast as possible. I have to say that it was rather a disappointment. I had the tuna steak plate. It came to the table cold. If it had been seared there should have still been some kind of lingering heat... It seems they must have taken it out of a fridge, mixed it all up with the salad and veggies and off it went. So besides the presentation and lack of the actual tuna steak, lack of crispness of where it should have been seared, it tasted fine. Also for the wife to complain about her tartar... She ate it all however. Also don't order the keylime pie. Again the better half will enjoy the cheapest version of that pie and for it not to be eaten completely...

So with the whining out of the way... Service was great. Lovely place. Prices are decent.
