Edward Smoked Meat — Restaurant in Boucherville

I don't like to give negative reviews but..I've had alot of smoked meat in my life...Nothing remotely special here...I've had better smoked meat in regular restaurants where the specialty is not even smoked meat. I dont know if i caught a bad brisket but the meat was way too salty fot my taste , and probably not steamed enough as it was chewy and not melt in your mouth stuff like it should be. You can find better on the Mtl south shore, Dunn's on Taschereau boulevard being one of them... I found it pricy too..cost me 30$ plus tip for a sandwich with fries, pickle and slaw. Slaw had a funky thyme taste to it and I didnt care for it either. The only reason you'd come here IMO is the easy parking and proximity to your home. You want good real good smoked meat, worth the detour , try Reuben's on St-Catherine street, Schwart'z , George's in Laval, Snowdon deli, Lester's deli and Smoked meat pete on west island,...

If you are looking for an overpriced (Covid made price surge acceptable) below average smoked meat you found it. Sanitary uneasy. Cook is using one glove manipulating the meat. Changed it once in an hour while touching everything with it. Including the meat wich is pre sliced and manually (using the gloved hand used for everything around) steamed to make sure it's full of water and less tasty. Steaming a chunk of meat is ok as the water won't dilue the savor and you cut meat as you need it. But pre sliced, they make sure the taste is dilued down one slice at a time. I had their smoked meat spaghetti and it was simply delightful. I really enjoyed the flavours and the softness of the smoked meat and it went so well with their meat sauce. None was overpowering the other and it added so many layers of flavours to the spaghetti. One thing that I would have appreciated in my meal to make the experience even better for me would be the chewiness of the spaghetti. It was a bit too soft for me.
