Ther chowmein and American chop Sui very good Edited 2025: We recently visited Dal Chini again after several years — this place used to be one of our go-to spots for Indo-Chinese food, but unfortunately, the experience this time was quite underwhelming compared to what it used to be. One of my biggest disappointments was the Chop Suey. I still remember having it here years ago — it was hands down one of the best I had ever tried (sharing a pic from 7 years ago for reference). But what we got this time was nowhere close. The new version felt more like sweet saucy noodles with barely any veggies, completely lacking the punch and texture it once had. We also tried: • Veg Noodles Manchurian — these were decent but could have definitely used more spices to elevate the flavour. • Chicken Manchurian Noodles — very average and bland. It felt like something was missing — no real kick or signature taste. The one positive from our visit was the service. There was a new lady serving — it was her first day — and I have to give her full credit. She managed our big group with kids very patiently and made sure we were taken care of. Service like that definitely makes a difference. Overall, Dal Chini still has a special place in our memories, but sadly, the taste and quality seem to have gone downhill over the years. Hope they revisit their old recipes — because that’s what made them stand out before.

The name Dalchini has a meaning - it means Cinnamon. Didn’t have high expectations but wanted a quick bite and the other options in the plaza were ignored. As it was after lunch not full, and seems like they do a lot of takeout as the number of tables is not many. Seated quickly and ordered a Veg Manchurian Fried Rice and a Mixed Vegetables with “the” Tofu (that’s what the menu said The Tofu). Requested with no or little oil. The items were out quickly. The rice made with long grain rice, which I don’t prefer in Chinese dishes. The colour bright red and without any flavour and still tons of grease. The same with Mixed Vegetables. Not flavourful and still greasy. The steamed rice plenty that came with it and came in a dish rather than the usual bowl. Reasonably priced, but very little Hakka Indian flavour in the dishes that we had.

Pathetic customer service, most rude owners. They don't give a damn about the customers. The menu did not mention the noodle soup being a clear soup. When it arrived we asked for a replacement as we were not in for a clear soup. The server was the kindest sweet girl and despite us being regular customers, the lady owner refused to even come to our table to talk let alone replacing the soup. Pathetic attitude. On top of that, we decided to pay via card and were asked to get in the queue (which was meant to be for take away customers) despite the fact that we had dined in. They clearly refused to accept their mistake and did not have the courtesy to atleast talk to us. The two stars are for the sweet servers and quantity of food. We decided to skip the dinner there and just went to another place! STRONGLY NOT RECOMMENDED!! 👎👎

POOR HYGIENE AND BAD QUALITY FOOD

We’ve been ordering food from the other dalchini location at Ebenzer for several years now. Today we thought why not order from this location, it’ll be the same. We placed an order for 2 Manchurian Hakka noodles, 2 machurian and one chili paneer. However, we didn’t expect to disappoint us. Got this for dinner, and we were disappointed because how stale and bland the food was. We hardly ate half of it, and we still had one Hakka and one machurian left to be opened. We went back to the location, and expressed our concern to the staff. The girl there heard us but then called the owner or manager, we expressed our concern to her in a very polite manner. Despite that she refused to agree how we felt about the food and told it was our fault. It genueily seemed like she didn’t comprehend what was being explained or expressed to her, and she kept telling us we made no sense. More than half the container was left and she told us that she couldn’t give us a refund on everything. At first, she said I either give you a full refund of the boxes you didn’t open or make one fresh item for you. As you see this is totally unfair as it doesn’t compensate us for what we paid - we paid $80. After explaining to the lady numerous times for 40 mins she agreed to give us full refund for the unopened boxes and a store credit for one item, which still is unfair. This lady seemed like she was simply salty that we came back to express about the food that was made bad and only provided solutions that were convenient to her and not us. After sticking true to our ground, she agreed to give us store credit for 3 items which is only valid for one week. As you see, this is totally unfair, and she refused to give us for a month, despite us telling her that we are going to be back. She conveniently used this “policy” towards her benefit, as she knew we wouldn’t be coming back in a week and we would loose our money. This lady simply didn’t care about providing good quality customer service but rather was looking for her benefit. IF YOU CAN, I strongly urge you to prevent going to this restaurant. These people don’t care about practising good hygiene or the importance of it. I will not be going back to this location, nor will many of my family and friends who have been coming here for years. They have truly...

If you are a Vegetarian DO NOT EAT HERE. I went in on Sunday, Dec. 2nd 2018 and placed an order. It was not busy at all; there was just one other person besides myself. I specifically asked for everything to be vegetarian, including no eggs either. First of all they charge HST as they should but do not provide a proper receipt with their HST number on it. I received my order, took it home and trusting Dalchini to be a respectable business who cares for their customers and quality of food i started enjoying our dinner with my family. One of the items was a Vegetarian Hot 'n' Sour soup (no Eggs) which i had ordered specifically for myself. As i am having my soup i sense something isn't right, it smelled off. I stopped eating and started to inspect it and there is was, many pieces of chicken!!!!! I instantly stopped eating and rinsed out my mouth! I felt horrible and was appalled by this! I called in and told them that this had happened and they would just say "sorry", which does absolutely nothing for me; and then they offer a credit, which i do not want! I WILL NEVER EVER EAT AT THIS HORRIBLE PLACE AGAIN, WHY WOULD I NEED A CREDIT!? I asked them to have the owner call me as i would like to discuss what happened and most of the day has passed today the 3rd with no call from the owner. Once again i am writing this review because I DO NOT WANT OTHER VEGETARIANS TO EXPERIENCE...
