What a mistake to take our out-of-country guest to this place for a taste of authentic Punjabi Food! Insulted after spending close to $20 per person on low-grade food. Let me cut a long story short for you. 1. Worst server ever - rude, condescending, and took 30 minutes to take orders for a party of 6. (Half of the things on the online menu were unavailable, so we had to engage in in-person ordering). She was snapping at us towards the end. 2. Stale, burnt, and cold appetizers (samosa chat, kachori, and kabab) 3. Florescent food coloring in chutneys and kabab (Hara kabab should not mean stuffing with green color - it should have green leafy veggies in it) 4. Restrooms are unhygienic and stinky. I would suggest you hold it. 5. Very stressful atmosphere. Their servers look like they need to be treated better; they pass on their bad attitude to their customers. No smiles, thank you's, or helping mood. Our server made fun of us for not being able to order from the cumbersome online menu. And we were all graduates with a decent education. Shudder to think how they treat uneducated people. 6. The main course - one dish had a hair in it; others were stale, and one was so bad that we had to call it out. We left the daal and karHi untouched. One of our guests started a stomach ache after dinner. Please don't waste your money there. The sanitation department should check their restrooms and food quality and take some action seriously.

Doaba is a gem of a restaurant that offers both dine-in and take-out options, catering to a wide range of preferences. The establishment is divided into two sections: one half dedicated to dine-in, which closes at 9 PM, and the other half for take-out orders. This setup is convenient and well-thought-out, accommodating different dining needs seamlessly. The dine-in area is particularly noteworthy for its design. With velvet lounge chairs and a cozy atmosphere, it provides a comfortable and inviting space to enjoy a meal. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between elegance and comfort, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed dining experience. One of the standout features of Doaba is the extensive selection of sweets and vegetarian food options. There's something for everyone, ensuring that both sweet tooths and veggie lovers are well catered for. During my visit, I tried the chaat, which was incredibly yummy. The flavors were authentic and perfectly balanced, making it a delightful snack. I also sampled the Masala Chai, which was extremely delicious and rich in flavor, enhancing the overall dining experience. If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend checking out Doaba. Whether you’re in the mood for a quick take-out meal or a cozy dine-in experience, this place has you covered with its delicious offerings and welcoming atmosphere.

So we have not done an Indian breakfast in a Punjabi restaurant. Was a few minutes away and we hadn’t tried this so last minute decided to stop by here. A few friends had recommended this as well. It was not busy and we quickly ordered a Paneer Paratha (stuffed flat bread), a Gobi (cauliflower) Paratha and two plain rotis and some Chole/Chana (chickpeas). The rotis and Chole did not have any dairy (butter). We requested that the order be rushed, but good things do take time and in this case it did. The combo meal comes with 2 parathas of your choice, yogurt and some pickled carrots and raw onions. The parathas were fresh from griddle and were spicy and were hot (temperature). Had we known, we would have ordered milder versions. But they were amazing. Nicely filled and dough soft - melt in your mouth. Would have preferred to have the Chole instead of the yogurt. The rotis and Chole as well were absolutely delicious. The rotis were very well made. Even though we requested to butter on it, I can just imagine. The combination meal comes with chai tea and was thoroughly enjoyed by my daughter. Amazing meal. Will definitely go again with some more time. For less than $8 + taxes. A good deal!

Let's start with the positives. Not much to like and very much to hate about this place. Decent Saag Paneer and Garlic Naan - not made with fresh garlic. Quite likable Shahi Paneer, though (minus the hair in it); the only authentic thing. Negatives -

  1. Ordering - The restaurant must provide paper menus, for all they had was a confusing online ordering system. Ordering took us half an hour because half of the available items on the menu were unavailable.
  2. Service - We asked for help during ordering; the Waitress needed to explain proportions and options adequately. We wondered about Soya Chap, for there were two options. We got the answer that both were 'regular.' How were we supposed to know what regular was? When we asked about the proportions, we were also met with the same answer - 'regular.' Upon inquiring again, we were told to go to the front and see the sizes ourselves.
  3. Appetizers - All three of our appetizers were horrible. The green Kabobs were only paneer with fluorescent food coloring, over-fried and burnt. The Kachoris were cold and stale; after asking why we found out that they weren't made fresh in the store, only kept at room temperature and served without warming. The Samosa Chaat was mediocre and cold.
  4. Water and plates - We were serviced with no plates or cutlery - We had to ask for them two times. After receiving them, we found that we only got 3 plates for a party of 6. The water pitcher was only half full for six people and finished quickly by us. Another was provided at the end of the meal when one of us got up and fetched some.
  5. KaRhi - WORST case of KaRhi ever. It tasted like a paste of raw besan, flour, Water, and uncooked turmeric. Upon inquiring, we were told this was an authentic Jain recipe made since the restaurant opened. At least we were provided with a refund for this dish.
  6. Extra Toppings - They gave us extra, stale daal to make us feel better. To make it even better, we found hair in our Shahi Paneer. In Conclusion, this restaurant is anything but authentic. If you are eating there and it is your first time having Punjabi food, please don't judge Punjabi authentic food and hospitality by...
