Did I stumble upon the best dum Biryani in Canada? Possibly...
Ordered the mutton Biryani that's accompanied with a yogurt raita and mirch ka saalan.
Was served the dish in a wide but not so deep vessel. The aroma first gets you even before you get the Biryani served to your plate. Detached attachment is what comes to the mind - the detached due to the morsels of rice not sticking together but the attachment is the synchrony of the blend of spices, with the meat flavor that's homogeneous throughout. The meat was tender but not overcooked as it stayed with the pieces of bone. Not overly spicy but high in flavor. The raita was not overly thick in consistency and had onions, coriander - simple and not filled with too many to mess it up. The mirch ka saalan was amazing - again, perfect consistency and done well to balance the complex flavors together. Paired up so well with the Biryani.
Got the Fidaa special delight for dessert. Base of sponge cake that was probably soaked in sweet milk/cream, maybe some honey. Topped with cream and garnished with rose petals. All done in-house. Was definitely impressed.
Ordered an Irani chai, but after paying, left it by the front desk and departed. So need to go back to try that out another time!
Wasn't aware until I finished the mutton Biryani that the restaurant doesn't use food colors, artificial enhancers etc.
The owner of the restaurant personally checked on the clients, asking for feedback and how they felt about the food. Earnest in trying to get the feedback from what I saw and a welcome change from the numerous desi restaurants that don't pay much attention to their clientele...
Overall, a good first impression, with the Biryani really being the star. Will revisit with the family and try other items before adding...

Highlights: Biryani Bliss: The Mutton Dum Biryani, Mutton Fry Piece Biryani, Chicken Dum Biryani, and Chicken Fry Piece Biryani (all 5/5!) are true Hyderabad-style biryanis—layered, fragrant, and packed with bold flavors. No shortcuts here—this is Biryani, NOT Pulao (take note, fusion restaurants!). Must-Try Starters:Hariyali Chicken Tikka (4.5/5) was succulent and smoky, while Chicken 65 (4/5) delivered spicy, crispy goodness. Sweet & Sips: Irani Chai (5/5) was perfection—rich and aromatic. Badam Milk (4.5/5) and the decadent Fidaa Special Delight (4.5/5) wrapped up the meal beautifully. Room to Grow: Mirchi Bajji and Shahi Tukda (3.5/5) were tasty but could use a touch more authenticity.
Final Take: If you crave real Hyderabadi flavors, this gem in Brampton nails it. The biryanis alone are worth the visit, and the vibrant ambience adds to the fun, festive experience. While a few dishes have room to elevate, the overall quality and authenticity shine. I’ll definitely be back—this spot has become my go-to for a taste of home!

Read moreI had an amazing dining experience at Fidaa restaurant! The variety of dishes we tried truly showcased authentic flavors without compromising on quality.
We started with the Mirchi Bajji, which was crispy, fresh, and just the right level of spice—no excess oil, and you could tell it was made with care. The Chicken Tandoori Tikka was perfectly grilled—juicy inside with that classic smoky tandoor flavor, and importantly, no artificial food colors were used, which is rare to find these days.
The Paneer Butter Masala paired with Butter Naan was rich and creamy, with soft paneer and a balanced taste—not overly sweet, just how it should be. The Chicken Curry was flavorful with homestyle spices and absolutely no MSG, keeping the taste authentic and natural.
We also enjoyed the Chicken Biryani and Fry Piece Chicken Pulao—both were aromatic and well-seasoned with generous portions of tender chicken. The Bagara Rice was a perfect match for the chicken curry, mild yet full of subtle flavors.
To finish, the Fidaa Delight dessert was the highlight—light, unique, and a great way to end the meal.
What stood out to me was the commitment to quality—no MSG, no added food colors, and every dish tasted fresh and homemade. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was comfortable.
