Disappointing Experience – Poor Service & Bad Food Quality
I visited this restaurant all the way from Port Credit and arrived at 11:19 PM, well aware that their listed closing time is 12:00 AM. As we entered, another family of four was just ahead of us, but the Supervisor (Vipin) informed them that dine-in was closed and only takeaway was available. They left disappointed.
When I approached Vipin, I mentioned that the restaurant was supposed to be open until midnight. He responded that the kitchen closes at 11:15 PM. I asked how takeaway orders were still possible, to which he replied that there was no serving staff available. Despite the confusion, I decided to proceed with a takeaway order.
I ordered two plates of Chinese spring rolls, Dal Makhni, naan, and roti. Vipin asked if I wanted Chinese or Indian spring rolls, and I opted for the Chinese version, not knowing they were frozen and mass-produced. The spring rolls were oily, had a bad aftertaste, and clearly lacked freshness. We tried one piece and called Vipin to express our disappointment. He clarified that only the Indian-style "noodle spring rolls" were handmade. When I asked if I could exchange the untouched second plate, he refused, but offered to sell us the Indian spring rolls instead. We agreed and took those along with our remaining order.
Unfortunately, the Dal Makhni was just as disappointing — lacking cream with the strong bitterness of cinnamon and cardamom, and completely unbalanced in flavor. It felt like raw dal without proper preparation.
This experience was frustrating, especially after making a late-night effort to dine here. The food quality was bad, and the supervisor's handling of the situation left a lot to be desired. Turning away customers at 11:20 PM when the restaurant closes at 12:00 AM sends a poor message and is a loss to the business.
I sincerely urge the management and owner to review their customer service practices and food quality. It takes effort to bring in customers — and just one bad experience to lose...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to visit Indolicious by Hakalicious for dinner because we love Hakalicious at Trinity Commons, but that location is always busy. Unfortunately, while the food at Indolicious was tasty, the experience was marred by poor service and a chaotic atmosphere.
From the moment we walked in, the place felt disorganized. There was no one to greet us or show us to a table, and after waiting for about 5 minutes, we had to approach an employee ourselves to get seated. Once we finally got a table, we waited another 5 minutes before anyone came to take our order, and even then, we had to flag someone down. When we did place our order, the server didn’t return for a good 10-15 minutes, leaving us wondering what was going on.
The food, when it finally arrived, was undeniably tasty. However, some of the Momos were open, with the filling spilling out, which was disappointing, though the flavor made up for it. The dressings and other dishes were delicious, but the service issues overshadowed the meal.
Throughout our time there, no one checked in on us to see if we needed anything else. The restaurant seemed understaffed, with only one male employee doing most of the work—taking orders, bringing food, and generally running around—while others seemed disengaged. The area near the counter was crowded with customers waiting for takeout, making the environment even more chaotic.
In the end, I had to ask myself if I would return to this location. For the food, absolutely—but not for the service or the overall experience. I think the owners should address these issues to prevent losing customers due to poor service and a disorganized atmosphere. The food is great, but the service needs a lot of...
Read moreHad an absolutely fantastic dining experience! If you're a fan of Indian and Indo-Chinese cuisine, this place is a must-visit. The flavors, presentation, and overall quality of the food exceeded my expectations.
The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the Tandoori Chicken—juicy, smoky, and perfectly spiced. You could tell it was marinated with care, making every bite incredibly flavorful. Another must-try is their Non-Veg Platter, which offers a great variety of meats, each cooked to perfection with a unique blend of spices. It's a great choice if you want to try a little bit of everything!
Being a fan of Indo-Chinese food, I couldn’t resist ordering the Schezwan Noodles, and they did not disappoint! The balance of spice and flavors was just right, and the texture of the noodles was perfect. It’s now my personal favorite dish here.
Apart from the amazing food, the staff was very attentive and courteous, ensuring we had a smooth and enjoyable experience. They were quick to respond to requests and made us feel truly welcomed. A special shoutout to Chef Vikrant, whose expertise in the kitchen is clearly reflected in the quality of the food. Kudos to him and the entire team for crafting such a wonderful culinary experience!
