We will start with saying a solid 4.8 stars !
We live in the area and the service has gotten progressively better since it has opened (looks like they have worked out all of the kinks).
The food quality is really good. We have been to this location over 10 times now and at various points throughout the day (lunch, dinner and late evening snacks).
Some of the consistently good items are the spinach dip with fried pitas, nachos and the grilled cheese with roasted red pepper soup combo. It is really awesome comfort food and we highly recco it! They also have fried Mac and cheese balls but if your going to have them we’d suggest coming during the day as they are consistently golden brown vs dark brown / well done in the evenings. Might be the chef on duty.
PSA As a note unless you love love love onions we’d recco to specifically ask for no onions in the grilled cheese otherwise it becomes an onion sandwich with cheese. However, you will truly enjoy the grilled cheese with the soup in our opinion if you order it without onions.
Drinks are made well. The place is clean. The bathrooms are well kept and the staff are friendly.
The owner doesn’t seem to want to ever interact or table touch during any of the customer visits. You would think he would to want to build relationships and invite people back. We think it’s a critical part of any service journey, but to each their own.
All in all great spot. The only reason we didn’t give the place a 5 star is the waitress dumped orange juice all over one of our Canada Goose jackets and got the fur wet which means a pretty hefty dry cleaning bill bless you live and all she offered was a napkin. 🤔👎.
Note to the owner:
Great spot, great food. Welcome to the neighbourhood. Be a little more social, if you want repeat business we want to know the face behind the name and feel welcome when we stop by. Other than that keep it up and keep your staff motivated to ensure an awesome experience for your guests during every visit.
Congrats on a great launch and continued success in...
Read moreOnly giv8ng overall 3 stars because the wings were REALLY good and even better bc it was 1/2 wing night! We got the breaded in honey garlic sauce. It started off great with a nice friendly server nMwd Mikaela, yummy appetizers... we got the crab and cheese dip and Cajun shrimp, both delicious! It went downhill when we got our main entrees. My daughter got the seafood pasta from their retro menu. DO NOT GET THIS. There were literally 1 tablespoon of morsels, not pieces of what they call seafood. See picture...the small 1inch blob on the side waz literally all the seafood morsels we managed to dig out of the pile of pasta. Our server said that's the way it bc each dish is proportioned. A supervisor came and said same and that indeed its just morsels mixed in, not visible pieces and only offered to bring a few pieces of shrimp and said if we wanted anything more we'd have to pay. So we begrudgingly accepted the shrimp. Aside from the ridiculous miniscule amount of seafood, the sauce was bland and nothing special. In hindsight, we should have returned the whole dish. Our second main was steak fajitas which was $27 and for $15 more you're supposed to get double the protein. This was NOT the case. This time manager Aly came by and said that's the way it is but can offer to give more rice and veg. as that was VERY sparse as well. For $41, this was clearly a ripoff so we sent it back. Mgr Aly didn't bother apologizing or anything even after we also showedher the sorry dish they had the nerve to call seafood pasta. She just grabbed the dishes and walked away very irritated. We also said the sweet potato fries which we paid $5 extrs for were cold and she muttered I'LL get another plate as she rudely walkwd away. ALY needs to learn to be a better manager ...she knew nothing about service recovery, nothing about customer service and nothing about being friendly or nice. We normally love Kelseys but sadly this experience turned us off and manager Aly's POOR attitude made it even worse and ruined the whole...
Read moreI had the my worst experience with this restaurant yesterday. We arrived and told the manger about our reservation who first couldn’t find it and then she did when she looked, she wasn’t welcoming (the place was not that full but anyway) the restaurant was warm and it was a hot day. Next, We ordered and our food took almost an hour to come. Upon asking how long it will take, we were told those people came before you and they’re getting served now so you will be next 🤔 ( I will check on it would have been nice) after order was taken we never saw the manger. After that we asked one server running around the whole restaurant if we can order something she was busy so she said sure but never took the order and again nothing for service. We’re were fed up and asked for bill after this because I was like this is stupid. The bill took another 10-15 min had to ask again. Then when we finally got the bill (at this point. We were standing ready to leave) and we told the server we’re ready to pay and manager was supposed to come and take the payment and she didn’t come and I’m like I’m done waiting this is RIDICULOUS! I asked is she going be long the server said no. we waited AGAIN. Finally the server just took the payment (manager never came), 0% was tip. And I told her the manager is serving and this is the service? It’s garbage the server agreed too lol and the food was absolutely TRASH (worst Alfredo pasta I had in my life) and even the server said it’s not the best item, so why is this item even on the menu? I got sick later too which I could feel I would. If this is the manger’s service I can’t imagine what all other servers do. After we went across them to Turtle Jacks for a much better experience and dessert, tea and snacks and tipped 25%. After this experience with Kelsey’s I feel like the reviews on here have to be paid they can’t be genuine. I will NEVER visit another Kelsey’s location. WORST...
