CHEF IS HIDING SOMETHING ! I’ll get to this in a moment. But first a little context. I used to own a restaurant which served Indian cuisine and Hakka cuisine so I know a little bit about Indian food and the restaurant business. After looking for a restaurant to eat we passed up a few restaurants in the plaza across and decided to try Sector 17 as we’ve heard good things about this restaurant in Chandigarh India. When I walked in and saw only 1 person in the kitchen, I was a little worried because usually that means the food will not be up to par. We were more confused as the young Chef came out to take our order and also answered phone calls at the same time! Very worried at this point, but he politely told us that he’s the only person and he recommended a few dishes to us. So we waited patiently and to our surprise we got the food about 15-20 minutes later. We ordered a Veg Noodle Tikki burger, Sector 17 Sandwich, Veggie Hakka Noodles. Let me tell you, the food was absolutely delicious. It hit all the authentic flavours that Hakka cuisine is supposed to offer. Seasoning, spices, flavours all very well balanced. The Chef also recommended Jal Jeera Soda(I believe it’s called something else) which was very refreshing. Portions were amazing too. So you’re probably wondering what was the Chef hiding? Well let me tell you….after thanking him and handing him a cash tip (always give cash to staff please) I found he was hiding a 24karat smile that stretched ear to ear! This was a genuine smile and I could tell because his eyes were full of appreciation. It showed me that this young man is not genuinely acknowledged for his amazing skills which is disappointing because he effortlessly handles the kitchen and everything else. I forgot to mention that even though he said it was a slow day, he took care of 4 other orders and 2 phone calls while making our food. This young man will definitely be rising to run his own place one day, I hope the current owner can hang on to him for a little while longer as I know the pain of losing good chefs. If your in the area, Please give this restaurant and this young chef a try and show him some love and maybe if you’re lucky he will give you his 24 karat smile too. Good work...

We ordered today based off of our last experience and added a couple more things. We tried the Butter Chicken Kathi Roll, the Paneer Chatpata Roll, Cheese Chilli (gravy) and the Grilled Chicken Sandwich along with what we had ordered last time.
The Butter Chicken Kathi roll tastes absolutely nothing like butter chicken itself. It's completely bland, and the wrap is just a basic tortilla, not the type which is used in an authentic Kathi Roll. The roll also contains egg— which is fine BUT do not belong in a roll that is marketed as Butter Chicken. This tasted like it was frozen chicken, cooked with no seasoning, as well as the egg. Completely disgusted, had to throw it away.
The Paneer Chatpata Kathi Roll was another disappointment. Bland paneer in a basic tortilla. NOT a Kathi Roll.
We've had better Cheese Chilli, and the Grilled Chicken Sandwich is quite average as well.
Their Momos are of inferior quality, also seem like have been store bought at then reheated.
In regards to the food we re-ordered, (masala fries, manchurian, hakka noodles and paneer fried rice), the quality remains slightly the same. Messy packaging though.
Probably will not be returning as I've definitely had better Desi Street Food. I would recommend to try at your own risk but be aware.

Read moreWe went to this place as my husband heard the advertisement it many times on radio . When we entered the place it was not inviting, looked like more iof take out place. Even if we ignore the ambience we expect a clean place atleast. But it was not clean too. We were hungry so we decided to dine in and ordered 3-4 items from menu thinking we can order more once we taste the food. It took Do much time maybe 25-30 minutes just for fast food item. It’s was Fries, masala fries n dahi batata puri. After a long wait when we got the food the quantity was so less. Dahi puri was a joke , the puris were so small and not stuff with yougurt n other accompaniments. I am going to share the picture of dahi puri here so u can relate. Thé sandwitch we ordered was not great as well, filled with Store bought mayo, which spoiled the taste of authentic Bombay sandwich. The only thing good was masala fries. We were still hungry n we decided to order more fries and some other item on menu but Lady at the front said it will take 40 minutes. For the first time it happened we decided to go to different restaurant so we can eat something more. Deciding between pizza or some other Indian restaurant we ended up going to chsi pani restaurant which is right across the sector 17 restaurant. it served the best dahi puri in gta. Look at the first dahi puri picture from sector 17 and second one from chai pani restaurant. You can see the difference. I am not here to defame any restaurant but want to bring this to notice of restaurant owner of sector 17 about...
