I like to list the reasons for giving the Branford Family Restaurant (dinner) a 5 stars rating. The food quality and attention to details is professional. Most likely, a great chef or an owner will care that much for the details. I ordered a “dry” Western omelet. The food arrived steaming hot directly off the grill. The eggs were cooked in layers and folded to be dry all over. The onions and ham weee diced in small pieces, perfectly moist and the chef used sweet onions to assure that the flavours are balanced. The texture, presentation, temperature and quantity were just perfect. I don’t know how a Western omelet can be better without becoming pretentious.
The other dish we ordered was the Chef Breakfast Special. The bacon slices were thick, tender and moist. The chef took an effort to select a good supply of quality bacon. The potatoes were perfectly seasoned and moist. Not to much and no too little. The order was for wet eggs, and they arrived perfect. All three eggs were clustered together on the plate, steaming hot and perfectly cooked.
The rye bread was fresh, thick and perfectly buttered. Again, attention to details, a fresh marble loaf, slightly toasted and the perfect amount of butter.
Even the tomato slice that was included, was tasty, showing a selection of A grade produce.
I can see that the team works in harmony, every person knows their job and the result is fresh breakfast for every guest with attention to details.
I prefer Simple food and tasty, and I hope that my review will help bring many new customers to this jewel. Thank you. We will come back...
Read moreTerrible. The cook (owner lady) got my order wrong 3 times and blamed me for changing my mind each time. I ordered beef on a kaiser. She made a beef sandwich which I was fine with. Waitress said no she was making it on a kaiser. I waited an hour. It finally came out and the bun was hard as rock. I showed the cook who picked it up and threw it back on my plate yelling at me saying I caused this. Then she accused me of doing this before for free food. I had never been there before but my mom in law recommended it. I have a bald head from cancer. I wonder how many fat bald headed women come in to this restaurant complaining of her crappy food to get free crappy food? I told her I was not paying and she told me to leave and never come back (like I would even consider returning) and then gave me the finger. What a lovely classy place (huge sarcasm there). One star is too generous for this place but they don't have a negative star option.
Also mentioning the carpets are extremely filthy. The waitess was super friendly and I'm sorry she is working for such a...
Read moreWorst eggs benny I've ever had. Put hardly any sauce or meat on (even when you have to pay $2 extra for peameal) - like they dip the top of the poached eggs in some tasteless hollandaise sauce and the english muffins were bare and untoasted. When I asked for more sauce as the amount of sauce on the food was not reasonable I was not notified by the waitress there would be an extra charge. $3.50 to be exact. FOR SAUCE that should have been on the food to begin with? When I advised I shouldn't have to pay for this at the register my concerns were ignored. Sure enough they have a picture of their eggs benny behind the register. I said "there's a lot more sauce on the meal in that picture" to which the waitress' response was "that's an old picture"... are you kidding me? If you are not going to serve food that is represented in the pictures you post... take them down. Avoid this place at all costs, not because of their poor quality food that they cheap out on but because of their atrocious problem resolution with paying customers and their...
