I informed the server of my allergies before ordering. They brought out the appetizer and entree dishes clearly containing the ingredients I’m allergic to. She first brought out the appetizer saying she only mentioned the allergy about the entree, not the appetizer, but then brought out the entree with the allergens. After sending the entree back, they sent back the same entree only picking a few pieces out, when I clearly mentioned no there should be no contamination. We asked for water 3 times, the server kept forgetting. The other tables also had complimentary bread and we noticed we did not, and had to request this. My partner asked for a steak knife and the server said that the butter knife was in fact a steak knife and denied him of a steak knife, while the other tables had black steak knives beside their butter knives. My partner ate his entire dish while I waited for my own, so we essentially ate dinner separately. When my dish came out, it was extremely salty and the broccoli was burnt black. This is the second time we’ve been here and both times the service and food did not meet average restaurant quality. Ambience is good. That’s about all that you pay for. They did not offer anything in return for the horrible dinner service, lack of attention, and burnt food. The bill was $210. Never returning or recommending to anyone.

We're from Toronto and went on a road trip to Kingston when we decided to drop by a good restaurant. We found this place that was seemingly high rated. The place was nice, it had a homely vibe being what looks like a renovated house transformed into a restaurant. The menu looked great and the server was kind. We ordered the crab cakes, the escargot and the mushroom Risotto. The first two were decent, but felt lackluster. However the Risotto was way too salty for the both of us and neither of us could finish it. To be perfectly honest, it's not worth the price they're dishing out. It could be that the chef accidentally tipped over a salt shaker, but they should have tasted the food before serving it. But that's not the end unfortunately, it took way too long to serve this ungodly salty Risotto and to get the bill right after we asked for it. Made a mistake of sitting outside in the evening and being buffeted by mosquitoes for a couple hours before we were able to pay. If it were the ambience and the atmosphere of the place I'd give it a 5, unfortunately what matters most is the food and it wasn't a good experience. The best thing there was the complimentary bread they gave at the start.

This was a true treat. What a beautiful restaurant. We were greeted by a delightful woman and we chose to eat on the patio. We ordered a Caesar which was delicious and started out with octopus. Now I have ordered octopus at many restaurants and this was spectacular. It was so tender and absolutely blasting with flavour. There were also some shrimp which again...the taste and flavour was refreshing and different. Chef Jay is really an amazing chef and in my opinion he is the best in the area. My wife had the seafood medley with mixed grilled vegetables....again....so much flavour and you enjoyed every bite. The wine Lemon sauce was so good and not over lemoned. Simply amazing. I chose the beef stroganoff which did not disappoint and it is chef Jays sauces that truly set his food apart from the others. The pricing was excellent for the experience and quality delivered....we will be back!

Food was exceptionally tasty and fresh. Loved the menu, mixture of new and unique items as well as traditional dishes. Staff is super friendly and made us fried calamari, even though not on their menu. Asked them to make it "Bob's way", and they knew exactly what we meant...the lobster linguini and crab cakes were excellent. The patio was cozy and a beautiful view of their garden and the building. No food pictures since we were so impressed with all the various dishes that we started to eat and forgot taking pictures. Thank you Mr. Bob for recommending this place to us!

I keep coming back to this GREAT RESTAURANT in Brighton. My niece visited me from Germany and had the Jägerschnitzel and said: "That tastes exactly like in Germany." They have a new Chardonnay from California on the menu which I truly enjoyed. We had mushroom crostini and octopus for appetizer and the Schnitzel and Atlantic salmon as the main. Dessert was Black Pepper ice-cream and torta caprese. Both owners are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I will be back for sure. Probably sooner than later.

After a short stay in Brighton at an incredible Airbnb — we visited The Gables for take out (due to COVID regulations— otherwise totally would have dined in at this gorgeous home/restaurant) We ordered the crab cakes that came with an amazing little salad + delicious sauce. They were also very accommodating for creating a vegan Risotto with lots of fresh veggies! We ordered one key lime pie for dessert and we were not disappointed. Super friendly staff and pick up was seamless. Thanks so much!
