This was my first time at Buddha restaurant but will not be my last. We started with the Hakka gobi appetizer. It was cauliflower battered and served with a spicy/sweet chili type sauce. It was so so delicious! My entree was chicken tikka Masala, and I chose it because I wanted some heat in my dinner, and it did not disappoint. Served with separate bowl of fluffy rice and in pretty decorated bowl. And the garlic naan bread was warm, crispy yet soft/chewy. Could not stop eating and groaning how good it tasted. My dinner companions had paneer tikka masala (also warm spicy heat) and the coco chicken, each served in pretty bowls and side of rice, and the garlic naan bread to dip in the curry sauce. We had a German craft beer with our meal, and a pitcher of water at the table. Nice cutlery and napkins are folded so elegantly. Our server was attentive and it did not take long to get our appetizer, and then our dinner entrees after. No room for dessert but maybe next time. So glad we have this gem of a restaurant in Walkerton!

We were in Walkerton for an appointment and just happened upon the restaurant. It was incredible. The staff was friendly and helpful, the atmosphere welcoming and the food was incredible. We had the Hakka Gobi to start. We couldn’t stop oohing over how great it was. Then we had Saag-E-Jashn (Chicken) and the OG Goat. Both served with separate bowls of rice. It was delicious and we had enough that we each ended up bringing a portion home for a second meal. We got the naan basket with all 3 types of naan. They were the best naan I’ve ever had. Nice and thin, with the perfect amount of toasting to them. And the flavors were remarkable. We couldn’t decide which naan we liked the best I had the Aam panna for my drink. One I’ve never had before. It was delicious. All the flavors came through independently and mixed. It was interesting and refreshing. A wonderful discovery. Sorry we didn’t have space for dessert because they looked great. We’ll absolutely be back.

Outstanding food and delightful atmosphere: so happy to find such delicious Indian food near us. A huge recommend! We had the black lentil Dahl and beef vindaloo and asked for "big city level spice" on the vindaloo--it was amazing: a slow build of heat that didn't distract from the subtle but complex flavours. The meat was a little fatty but the sauce made up for it. The Dahl was also very good--creamy texture and a layered delicate spicing that amplified with every bite. Naan was also light and buttery. Rice is included, which is great and in general portions were generous. UPDATE We've been back twice since the first review and quality has been consistent. We had the OG GOAT dish once and while it was good, we preferred the beef vindaloo. The last time we were in we shared the rice pudding brulee for dessert and it was delicious! Also, the service is always friendly and cheerful.

"I had the worst dining experience ever at Buddha Restaurant, Walkerton. The food was incredibly bland and tasteless, as if they forgot to add any salt at all. The prices were exorbitant for what we received. We ordered Dal Makhani and it was nothing close to what the real taste of Dal Makhani is. It was just boiled lentil added in some gravy. God know what gravy it was, seems like whatever was left the chef added the boiled lentil into it. Even the gravy items were not up to the mark, the onions and tomato were half cooked in the gravy. The only good thing was the young boy who was serving us the food. He was extremely polite and patient. I would not recommend this place to anyone. THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT WHAT WE CALL INDIAN FOOD!! Being an Indian I felt so angry! Save your money and go somewhere else for a much better dining experience."

We have been to this place half a dozen times or more. It was always consistent with good food and good service. Tonight, however the food didn't taste the same. The Veg Handi was very dry and smelled like it contained nutmeg. Very different from all prior visits. We also ordered the Onion Bhaji and it was big clumps, and undercooked, not crispy like all other times. The butter chicken, and coco chicken were much spicier than ever before! We asked for our bill, waited almost half an hour at the table, then we went to the front counter before the server rang us thru. Having no ac made it unpleasant as well with the humid weather. Not sure if we will return, as we did not enjoy the meal this last visit.

Great food. Lovely dishes and display and large portions. Love the tea. We ordered 3 apps and all were yummy.... I'd choose the fish fritters over the "Love triangles". Just make sure you go with lots of time as it takes a while for the food to come out. Both times we've been there it took a while for the food to arrive and the restaurant was empty...which was ok as we wanted to hang out. 🙂 Sorry...we didn't take a photo before diving in 😆😬
